he was looking very lively just before he came off (maybe it was just he could see the substitution coming up!). as a previous poster has said, who else is there to play wide?
one thing you are correct about is that edwards is one of the few out of contract players who has had interest from more successful clubs (maybe jackson being the other?), so may turn down any contract offer.

if cook is wedded to a particular system (4-2-3-1) and i believe he is, then he'll play the best player for each position.

I would think a few of the squad have proved that can have poor ball control, overhit or underhit crosses or maybe misdirect them, run down blind alleys so probably quite a number could match Edwards in that position. | | | |

yeah, those sides of his game can be matched by most.
however, the 5 goals could be matched by norwood, but we might want him as well, the 4 assists can be matched by precisely no-one.

If we really are looking to the future, I would think that Nsiala and Woolfenden would be the best CB pairing as they will both be here next year, most likely. If McGuinness starts over Nsiala, I would assume that Nsiala is not getting a new contract, which would be a shame. | |
