As someone who lives very close to Manchester it seems to me that it’s a myth to say that there are more Man City fans than Utd. True, a lot of the young kids wear city tops, but United seems to be much more popular than City.
Also, there are quite a few Liverpool tops worn around the actual city itself - always thought that the rivalry was extremely strong between the cities and football clubs. Was surprised by that. |

My experience having lived in Manchester for 4 years was that United were in the majority across Greater Manchester, but there were certain areas of the City of Manchester where they were virtually non-existent.

I know it sounds silly but when in a city where the local football team(s) are very successful it always makes me smile if I see a young kid or teenager wearing a top of an unfashionable side.

Yeah, total myth, there are red areas and blue areas but it’s certainly not true that everyone in Manchester supports City.

While I dislike both clubs, there's a lot of players I quite like on both teams, Foden, Mount, De Bruyne, Giroud etc.
Pep is also an absolute genius, best manager in world football in the years since he first became Barca manager, likeable guy too. |
Is he the best though? I know it's subjective but i'm not convinced. Just to be clear i'm not one of these people who tries to downplay his achievements or calls him a fraud. He's clearly brilliant. Just not sure it's undisputed.
Getting back to the thread...I think it will be a poor game. Chelsea sitting back playing for 1-0 or extra time. City, if they go ahead, are incredibly boring in games like this. They just play keep ball for the rest of the game. I know the opposition can't score without the ball and the point is to win but it feels so anti football. They break 4 on 2 and they still don't bother trying to score. They pass it around and then pass it back and start again. I've seen games they could have been 3-0 up in and not worrying about the endless keep ball but they still do it. Just seems so anti football for a teamed coached by supposedly the greatest there is. I doubt we'd see Bielsa play like that. |  |

Said it before, say it again "hate" Citeh for various reasons largely involving a bad element amongst their fans that I have witnessed, including believing should qualify for Europe because they had 30k+ crowds in tier 3, and bitterness about that 81 cup sf at Villa Park.
