a racist act".

I am sorry people who commit racist acts are racists. The people who boo taking the knee are racists. They may not like to be called racists but they are racists.

What would people’s opinions be on football players taking the knee before every game to support an anti homophobia abuse group rather than Black Lives Matter? Just out of curiosity...

Absolutely fine with it. I'd like to see more frequent support from footballers and football clubs on that cause to be honest.

I just don’t understand why BLM is getting the only focus when homophobia is on the rise as well in recent years as well. Some peoples opinion on the knee is that other abuse areas should be made aware of as well

That's not why they're booing though.

Well, unless there's been a spate of homophobic murders recently, I'm not sure it's quite the same. Of course there have been many great LGBTQ+ iniatives in football of late but racism against the BAME community is the issue taking precedence.

It shouldn't be an either/or issue. It's also not hard to understand why footballers are taking more of a stand against racism currently; there are hundreds of Black players playing professionally in the UK and many of them (most in fact) are exposed to racist abuse. It's a personal cause for many footballers. That doesn't mean that homophobia isn't important.

Just because everything can't be protested at the same time doesn't mean nothing should be protested. There are other forums for pushing back against homophobia, and for whatever reason the people involved in those movements have not chosen football as a major forum.

Pronouns: He/Him/His. "Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."

I would say as well as, rather than, rather than.

Just as with issues of racism, when male professional players do come out, my expectation would be that any abuse/booing etc would be treated the same.

That is to say, anyone advocating for, or talking about grey areas in say a future where players were boo'ed for protesting homophobia, would look pretty much like a homophobe to me.

I think Ipswich should live in racial harmony, but Ipswich lives in racial harmony doesn't think Ipswich should live in racial harmony.

Short but interesting piece here featuring Akala, (I won't pretend to follow rap) which might be of use to one or two people.

You might not read this, but on the off-chance you do, it seems incredibly sad that after decades on here you're willing to jack in the primary on-line meeting place for fellow fans of the club you love, just because people have bothered to explain why it's wrong to boo players taking the knee.

When 20+ people all happen to say the same thing re seeing things from the perspective of those who are *actually getting the abuse & protesting against it in the way they themselves have decided is best*, that isn't "bullying", it's decent attempts to explain to you.

If you haven't already, maybe just try imagining yourself in a black players' boots, getting monkey chants & other vile abuse both on the pitch & off it, and then having someone tell you that your protesting about that in the way that *you* want is wrong, even though they're not getting the abuse and you are.
