Beg to differ. I think they would look at it and think they will be hard to break down without leaving ourselves open to england flair players. It's a very intriguing England squad for this competition imo.
Certainly a step up from recent performances however they will need to step up again. No complaints from me though, they got the job done and hopefully they can push on against the Scots. Kalvin Phillips was a joy to watch.

That midfield 3 of Rice/ Phillips/ Mount looks really good; it will take a strong team to beat us (annoyingly, there are a few of them about).
Pickford's kicking reminds me of Richard Wright, Walker had a couple of brain farts, and Kane was quiet - but today was a good day.
Like others, great to see Mings look so good.

Solid if unspectacular. First 15 mins were very good then just dropped off a bit.
Phillips was impressive, certainly eases the Henderson situation. Gives us a good platform to build on, expect to see us be a bit more fluid in the next 2 games.

Kanes lack of performance for me comes more of a sign of an opponent who were to scared to go forwards. Kane drops into those holes left by midfielders. They sat so deep or were pressured so much by our lads that the hole wasnt there much for Kane and he did become a pedestrian. Not his fault at all.. but a good sign we have the opponent on the ropes imo

I do think people are overlooking the temperature out there today.
It was flipping hot.

Fair enough. I mean thinks I want us to work. Want a natural left back in there. Grealish get minutes cause we will need him at some point.
That was how the best teams win, dominate the game, get the goal, don't give the others a sniff, all while playing football correctly (i.e. passing it/keeping it on the deck/being generally watchable). That was the sort of win you associate with Germany or Italy rather than England.

We did today what we needed to do in the WC semi and couldn't. Took the lead, controlled the game. We never looked like losing today. I don't see how anyone can have any complaints.

Thought we were generally pretty excellent. Lots of players capable of making a difference. Stones and Pickford worry me that are only 2 seconds away from a clanger. Maybe I'm just nervous.
As a few have implied, will we be able to remain solid defensively and as imposing going forward against a France, Netherlands, Italy etc. The competition has some decent teams in it but we do appear amongst them.
