It must be down to the Czech FA. As far as I remember from speaking with my Czech friends it isn't something they're particularly bothered about one way or another, a bit like how most Dutch people don't worry about being called Hollland.

It's an older useage from when Ukraine was a region of other states (the Soviet Union, Russia, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Khanate of the Golden Horde), or was divided up between several of them, which was the case for for most of the last thousand years, until 1991. Well after many people got their dose of geography in school. |  |
