Good point. Our side will look nothing like that come the start of the season. I'm just saying it's not disastrous. I would guess over the next couple of months we'll see about 8 in and a good few of them out too. It's going to be busy.

Wigan 4
Gillingham 3
Bolton 2
Ipswich 2
MK Dons 2
Plymouth 2
Cambridge 1
Charlton 1
Doncaster 1
Morecambe 1
Oxford 1
Portsmouth 1

So whilst we haven't hit it as hard as Fleetwood, Burton, Wigan and Gillingham, we are up there in terms of signings so far.

Those panicking at this point seem to be unnecessarily worried.

It's not to be forgotten that there are still clubs negotiating with their own out of contract players, so until the end of june there's a lot of clubs who don't know what their actual squad currently looks like. So there will be many who won't be keen to let players go until these negotiations are finished

I take the view with Gamechanger and Ashton/O'Leary that either a giant prank is being played on Ipswich fans and these people have no money and Ashton and O'Leary are body doubles

OR

We take Gamechanger at face value and they want this club, eventually, back in the Premier League and will invest heavily to get us there.
Look at how many new management/coaching staff we've appointed. Some of them lured from Championship clubs.
Do you really think the new owners would spend what is probably a considerable amount of the salaries of these people if they weren't also going to buy players for them to coach/manage?

He said that a week ago tbf, would’ve expected a couple to have been done by now.

I don't understand how people can't see the cause for concern though. We start pre-season in 9 days time, with just 2 new signings.

Including those 2 new signings, we have about half a dozen players in total that Cook wants to keep, with the rest he has told are up for sale/free to leave. The players that are still left are hardly going to break sweat in pre-season knowing the manager doesn't want them, and then how is Cook meant to implement a style of play with only 6 players?

I know deals etc aren't easy to get over the line, and I'm not necessarily blaming anyone for the lack of signings so far, but a few deals need to be wrapped up and through the door before next weekend.

Exactly right. This whole smash it up and rebuild project has a very bad odour about it right now.

I'm not sure our lack of early June signings is the reason we've been sh!t for years.
