Yeah, surprising only Crawford got 2 caps, given they won the league. Surprised Ted Philips (269 apps, 161 goals for Ipswich) never got a game for England. Nor did John Elsworthy (396, 44 from midfield) get a call up from Wales.

Elsworthy was in the 1958 WC squad for Wales but didn’t travel because the FA were too poor….but then turned out they took a load of bigwigs and their wife’s instead to Sweden | |
