Matt Crooks bid falls short on 16:08 - Jun 30 by chrismakin | Phil.. is it poss we could have things personally agreed before the fee has been agreed? |
That sort of thing never happens! Think the narrative will play out that we will get him. Rotherham comments seem to be posturing.

10p says we won't. I hope you are right but we can't get everyone we go in for with a bid and i reckon he will go to the championship. I just think at his age and having experienced it already he'll want a championship club.
More likely to get his brother, Garth. (n/t) on 16:25 - Jun 30 with 2322 views | Bloots |

Would this suggest though that with fees being floated around via the Rotherham side that we’ve moved to a stage where Crooks is warm to the idea of moving here? I mean we can agree fees with Rotherham, but the player has to want to come here.

I think the longer these things go on the more there is the indication the player isn't against it. Not often you hear of a move which has been ongoing for a while that falls down as a player decides he just doesn't fancy it. Of course, players could equally not be against other potential moves.

Bit of 'destabilising' first with a low bid?

You never want your first bid accepted innit. I'm liking Phil's confidence. I'll get a massive stiffy if we can sign him, I think he's a quality player and exactly what we've been missing. Our midfield would start to look very tasty.

If you all get stiffys, could you please get rid of them before posting on the forum? I don't like the thought of talking to a tumescent man online without me knowing.

Matt Crooks bid falls short on 17:07 - Jun 30 with 1898 views | dirtyboy | This talk of the players being on furlough, people shouldn't be reading too much into it. In all likelihood, you're not going to get someone on £20k a month all of a sudden stuck on £3k a month, the club is merely making the most of a government scheme where the players are technically not working or can do anything for the club during what is a downtime anyway and making £2,500 per player per month (or whatever).. and topping them up to 100%. Say you've got a squad of 20 players, the club could be saving £50k a month, would be stupid not to. Given clubs have been hit with no crowds, I have no issue with this, even though it's a bit of a technicality as they'd not be working anyway.

Yeah but what if we sign Matt Crooks? Surely Phil's more of a left back?
| Trust the process. Trust Phil. |

I’m not one for being held to ransom over transfer fees, but if there was one bit of business that I would pay a bit over the odds to get it done quickly it would be this one. He’d be a quality addition.

And bearing in mind they returned to training today they won't be on furlough anymore.
