Wouldn't normally post this sort of thing - and apologies if somebody else already has - but I think this worthwhile if you can spare a few pounds.

https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/litte-girl?utm_term=Ryx2bKemq

I was aware of the Twitter posts but hadn't seen them - there's a link to them in the Just Giving page. Profoundly depressing.
It may be a futile gesture but it made me feel a little better to do SOMETHING to try and demonstrate that we're not all *rseholes

Footage all provided by UEFA.

Did you notice during the Ukraine v Sweden game how often the camera went to 'pretty' blonde haired Swedish girls?

Well that's more like it. The Brazilians and Dutch used to hand pick large groups of stunners and place them in the crowd for the cameras.

Up to around Italia 80 Euros the cameras would always film any crowd trouble as it was happening but then there was a decision to stop this as it was seen as glorifying it. I think there should be a similar directive about filming distressed children.

Let's concentrate on Swedish, Brazilian and Dutch tits - although my favourite are the Perurto Rican girls - perfect in every way

You make a great point about Norwich fans crying, I seem to remember a few getting laughed at on occasion, particularly when Fulham thrashed them.

How you've read through this thread and then posted that is beyond me. What are you on about?

Meanwhile you continue to chuck insults around directed at anyone who doesn't agree with you. Self aware much?

Are you saying all of those come under the "nasty fookers" category? The couple of posts which called the girl a nazi and a slut are the nasty fookers, every other comment towards the girl and this fundraiser is light-hearted.

If there is a Ukraine fan crying tomorrow there will be cheers around the country just like on Tuesday, or if an England fan is seen crying there will be cheers in Ukraine and definitely Germany. That's football.

Only one of those is directed at OP, and it's incredibly mild at best, the rest are people being critical of the fundraiser.

If at any point there is a young England fan crying because we've lost, I can tell you for fact there will be rapturous cheers in Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Germany and whoever we're playing who would be beating us.

Two final words which i've already used, that's football.

The online abuse from the Twitter trolls is disgusting and actually quite sickening.

However a young child crying at a football match because her team is losing happens across the country every Saturday afternoon and across the world. In fatc may of us will have been there.

Obviously most games aren't televised but even those games that are you often see upset kids, its like a rite of passage....often a significant proportion of away fans will seize the opportunity of singing something along the lines 'of we can see you crying' they don't tend to be selective on age.

This fundraiser is rather strange. Call out the sick trolls and offer support by way of supportive messages to the girl and her father but putting together a fundraiser is a little bit odd and I'd be surprised if the girl's family didn't also think so.

Fair enough, we'll agree to disagree. I don't think an upset 7 year old girl is fair game for humiliating. To me, humiliating a 7 year old is much more strange than setting up a fundraiser. I'll leave it at that.

Noggs, I don't think the cheering of the girl's upset is in particularly good taste and personally i wouldn't mock a young child at football or for anything for that matter...it's why i said a significant proportion of fans, not all...but i think this has gone a bit overboard.

The issue here is Twitter and online trolls who target anyone rather than anything else. Imagine if a fundraiser was set up for every victim of online abuse.

I think the attention this has all generated by social media has made things worse, it's almost as if people haven't got more important things to think about.

I have been trying to put myself into the situation of someone in the crowd. On seeing the girl on the screen I would probably have given out a sympathetic "Awwww" followed by a slight chuckle and then got on with my day.

I have also been thinking about the booing of national anthems - which is not just an English thing. Whilst I personally wouldn't do it I didn't really have a strong view on it, a sort of couldn't care less attitude. I have though changed my mind, I have decided it has no place in the game and is disrespectful.

I still don't see a problem with the songs though, that really is pantomime. I was at the first new Wembley game against Germany and the Gerries were singing a German version of Three Lions, I don't know what they were singing but I thought it must be quite funny.

Social media ensures that everything just spirals out of complete control and reality. With that still photograph, the young girl is now the unwitting subject of firstly, indefensible photoshopping and online abuse, and now the subject of an embarrassing fundraiser. There will probably be a picture of her in 20, 30 years time in a 'This is what she looks like now' piece of click bait.

30 minutes after that picture, she was probably all smiles, tucking into a Big Mac and thick shake and moved on with her life.

I don't like the songs about the war being sung at football. I'm pretty sure the majority of WW2 veterans would find it in bad taste and those singing have no idea of the horrors faced by both sides in the wars.

Wasnt it just four (very vile, stupid and sickening) tweets. Would her parents even know that four separate bellends in England sent these tweets? and more to the point even if I had found out that 4 low life idiots tweeted about my kid like that (which would have been very unlikely that I would find out), I'd be more annoyed at the bloke setting up a fundraiser to perpetuate national Anglo/German attention to it.

It does appear to have been just four, particularly horrible, tweets which as you say, would have disappeared into the ether if it was for well-intentioned anti-trolls.

The fundraiser currently stands at over £8,500 and rising.

I think the person who set this crowdfunding thing was well intentioned, just wanted to show not all English are ar$eholes, not sure what's going to happen with all that money though now!!

I think:
Booing when the opposition have the ball - definitely, it helps make an intimidating atmosphere
Booing a national anthem is disrespectful to that nation
Cheering when a child cries - then you're just a bad person

Thanks for down voting my really nasty posts. Checked his twitter this morning and he's still tagging many celebrities asking for money, it's at £7,000 when he wanted £500, and yet hasn't posted a single update how his progress in tracking this family is.

Yesterday I thought he was just a snowflake, now i'm convinced he's a huge scammer.

People had started to suggest this in the facebook-linked comments thread on justgiving. The comments thread has now been mysteriously closed with no word from the fundraiser.
