Columbo. on 20:05 - Jul 4 by solemio | He's alright but he's not in Morse's class. |
Morse gets my vote, though Suchet’s Poirot runs him a close second. The one that makes me laugh is Murder she Wrote’s Jessica Fletcher. It always seemed like this weeks guest star did it, which made it a tad predictable.

Columbo. on 19:56 - Jul 4 by eireblue | Over-rated, I always spot the criminal long before he does. |
How do you know when he's spotted the criminal? It must be before the "just one more thing" question, otherwise he wouldn't ask it! :-)

Columbo. on 22:10 - Jul 4 by Lord_Lucan | I like Columbo but it always sends me to sleep - same with Davit Attenborough. Interesting Columbo fact - Bing Crosby turned the part down. |
Both Peter Falk and Columbo, had a glass eye. That’s quite a coincidence.

Or Sam Tyler? Better detective (through hindsight) than Hunt.

Not quite as astonishing as Jesus having his birthday at Christmas and dying at Easter though...

Columbo. on 12:51 - Jul 5 with 478 views | ArnoldMoorhen | The world has moved on a very long way: Saga Noren and Martin Rohde from The Bridge. Sarah Lund from The Killing. Their clones: Karl Roebuck and Elise Wassermann from The Tunnel and Sarah Linden (and Stephen Holder is a great character, too) from The Killing (US). And if Texas Rangers count as detectives, Jeff Bridges in the under-seen movie Hell or High Water is absolutely superb. Cardinal is very good. Kate Winslet was utterly believable and brilliant in Mare of East Town, even if the plot was a little bit Broadchurch in the way that every single character you had ever met had to have a secret.
