So instead of the basic curtesy and gratitude he showed in being backed, he should have said Ashton is not a scouser, is rubbish and hated by Bristol City, the Chairman a clueless old fool and the Americans a bunch of happy clapper chancers who’ll be gone the first sign of trouble.
