Which ex manager would you pick 13:46 - Oct 19 with 1700 views | Bluefish | If you had a one off big game and needed one of them to step in and manage your team for a day? I won't include big Mick because it wouldn't be a fair contest and the numbskull lot have suffered enough keane Jewell Hurst Lambert Cook Remember one off big game and not their players [Post edited 19 Oct 2021 13:50]

Which ex manager would you pick on 14:41 - Oct 19 by JammyDodgerrr | The performances were much better, we just didn't have the players with any experience to do what we needed, whether that's play nasty or nice. Evidenced by the Millwall/Bristol games where we should've won but couldn't hold on. The squad was so poor. |
The Improved Performances largely consisted of us toothlessly stroking it around in midfield for 15 minutes, before losing by a couple of goals. We needed survival football. We got the Lambert Walk.

Still amazes me how he gets let off. The to$$er should never have been appointed.

As I've said a LOT recently, we are too quick as a fanbase to start cults around managers(notably Keane and Lambert, maybe arguably Cook but to a far lesser degree) who don't deserve it. Poor old Mick had to save us from relegation and take us to the top half of the table before we did anything like that! Dear old Joe Royle had a section of the fanbase(including the fool who's writing this - I like to think I'm older and wiser on that front now) that never took to him, despite all he managed to achieve. Yep. We were bottom, seven points adrift of safety with an utterly disorganised and demotivated rabble of a team. He needed to be quick off the blocks results-wise to stand any chance of keeping us up.

Not letting him off at all. He was a total disaster and deserved to go about 18 months sooner than he did. But he did get a response when he came in from the players, absolutely. We might have been rubbish but there was a response and he got them motivated for a short time.
