From the video of the McKenna training session 15:16 - Dec 22 with 6346 views | Illinoisblue | Looks like Kenlock is still around. Must be a very weird situation for him, training every day knowing you’re not even eligible to play. He’s probably as good as Penney too. Wonder if he, Jackson and Nolan will finally get moved on in January

IIRC Kenlock is on his 5th - didn't he debut in as a cameo under McCarthy?

So that doesn't show what a mess we're in. But actually shows how highly rated Kenlock must be. Who'd have thought that?

We don't have an Ikea. It would have to be Homebase or something.

yeah to be fair I could see Nolan in a Homebase. The brown overalls would work well with his hair.

It looked like they were actually working on working in enclosed spaces et al, which may help us get away from the seemingly one-dimensional get it on the flanks and then wonder what to do next syndrome we've ben experiencing. |
Exactly what I was thinking watching the training session. I also went back to my trusty friend (YouTube) and watched PC first session. Very different. I think this lad is going to do us proud

Well as only you and I have so far made these particular comments it's obvious we qualify for roles on the coaching team. We could in fact, take turns to wash, dry and iron the kit. We'll have to take it in turns on the ironing to make it fair.

From the video of the McKenna training session on 18:25 - Dec 22 by Keaneish | Penney’s left foot delivery and ability to get forward is far superior to Kenlock’s. They’re both questionable defensively but Penney is far better suited to the wing-back role. Some of Penney’s deliveries into the box have been superb. |
Penney is far too lightweight, that’s his issue.
From the video of the McKenna training session on 08:57 - Dec 23 with 1229 views | chicoazul | Kenlock might be an interesting person to talk to one day. The only player to have worked for Mick Mini Roy Lameberk Cook and now McK.

From the video of the McKenna training session on 09:19 - Dec 23 with 1178 views | Mullet | It would be a twist if he got back in. His best position seems to be LWB, and we've never really played it un all his years here. I do feel a bit sorry for Kenlock, he's needed a move away either on loan or not to find regular football. Yet never quite fitted in under any manager. But he's been too useful to let go it seems.

From the video of the McKenna training session on 11:14 - Dec 23 with 1077 views | franz_tyson | I think Kenlock needs to get away if he wants a career. He’s never ever been out on loan. Always struck me as someone too laidback. Josh Emanuel is about the same age. He went out on loan and took his chance when he left us. Kenlock seems too content to be a backup or a non-playing member of staff. Should have left us a few years back to get regular football at whatever level he is at.

Because Cook signed Penney and Coulsen and then in the call between Woolfenden and Kenlock decided that Woolfenden can cover left back as well as play CB so went with Woolfenden. Why do you think 3 previous managers gave Kenlock over 100 appearances between them? We should not be looking at Kenlock as a key player for us but I don't get the general dislike of him. He would be a perfectly acceptable squad player in this league and for most clubs in the league above.

I don't disagree too much with your last paragraph (though Championship is a stretch for me - he played a lot of games for a team relegated by February). My point is that Penney is a superior left back and overall player, which I really don't think anyone not on the wind up can disagree with. Choosing between Wolfenden and Kenlock won't have been a hard decision. Are Coulson and Penney better than Kenlock? Yes. That's why he's not been registered, it's not because he's terrible. We just have better options (when fit).
