A combo of owner, CEO and manager. Read my posts, it’s not all MA’s fault, but he’s right in the mix.
I did say this set of accounts would show £30m+ (my estimate was £32m).

Luckily we pay our debts to people like HMRC, still have our own ground, and an owner who will prop up losers….for all of his lack of football knowledge!!!

As long as a club has an owner with deep pockets and a willingness to keep funding it, it's all gravy. The problem comes when the owner becomes reticent to carry on doing so, see Mel Morris at Derby. What a club is losing is irrelevant really unless FFP rules are being broken and even then, the monitoring of it is so delayed/slack that it takes several years for it to catch up with clubs.

Pretty much like Blackburn, with a £200m debt to the owners, but without much sign of them pulling the plug, and increasingly reliant on their academy as a source of talent, plus a regular sale of existing talent (Armstrong and BBD in January, presumably). | | | |

Lansdown is happy to….he’d like new investment, but he won’t leave us in the lurch.

Well he was the CEO, he’s got to share some responsibility for that surely? That’s how my company works, if we make losses the board will usually blame the CEO and look for him to respond and resolve it. Ashton has already walked having talked Gamechanger into buying Ipswich and securing himself another job. |  |

Damning set of accounts that (on top of poor ones in preceding years), all under the watch of our new CEO. Obviously covid hammered them, but even before Covid they were running wages at over 100% of income. Bloating our the squad to go backwards isn’t a good look.
I can understand why people want to think it’s got nothing to do with Ashton, but a lot of this was going on during his watch. Although commercial income of £16m pre-Covid is very good for a club their size. So at least Ashton seems solid on that side. |  |

Maybe all is well in the BCFC camp financially but, as you seem to recognise, the future is likely a downward trajectory and Derby and we know what that looks like longer term. | |
