The fact that almost all of tour January games are away might actually give us the chance to build up momentum and get a string of wins. I said at start of the season, we’d be better away from home because teams will always come to PR to defend and sit deep, and certainly under Lambert & Cook’s “ one up front “ approach we would always struggle to score.

Possible yes but unlikely in my opinion although would love to be proved wrong. It appears (hopefully) we have a new manager bounce. As much as its about us winning we would need at least a couple of teams to have a spectacular second half points collapse, let's hope Oxford get Lambert in charge!
It only takes a couple of games without a win which will come at some point and a lot of the hard work is undone.

That’s the other thing…. We have to play most of the teams above us again (other than Sunderland and Wycombe - and Sunderland are probably out of sight anyway), so if we beat them, we take the three points while at the same time stop them getting another three points, so your classic six-pointer.
Add to that most of the sides above will still have to play each other, and they both can’t win.
Still all to play for, albeit with a pretty narrow margin for error…. 2 pts a game average from here would give us 77 points, so we need to maintain that average. | |
