Gamblers, worst bet that you're prepared to admit to...... 10:24 - Jan 18 with 4581 viewsBloots

....I did a pre-season double this year.

Ipswich and Colchester to both be promoted.

Seemed realistic at the time.

In a horse racing competition on the three day Cheltenham meeting we were given 4 races to pick the winners all four of my tips won a £1 win Yankee would have come to over £3,500 guess what I didn't have a penny on any of them 😩 prices were 11/1 9/1 3/1 3/1 I was gutted.

It's the ones you *don't* put dosh on that hurt most.

I got the 1 - 2 - 3 in a Cheltenham Gold Cup, quite big prices, must have been sometime before 2005 which is when I started betting. Would have won thousands in a tricast.

I do an e/w acca every season as to who’s going to win the 4 divisions, the season that the league got cancelled they paid out on the positions that they were when it finshed I got £58 for the E/W part.
This year I have done Man City, Sheffield United, Ipswich and Salford. Even with the place being 2nd or the PL and 3rd for the EFL I have absolutely no chance this season.

Bets bet I ever had was a long time ago. I used to watch the Cheltenham Festival on TV then nip down to my local Betting shop for the last couple of races. One of the races was a National Hunt flat race and I picked four horses out and did them in a combination forecast, combination tricast. I can't recall the exact amount I placed, but it was under a fiver. A 50/1 horse won (Mark Pitman), a 7/2 second (Martin Pipe) and a 25/1 third (Mark Pitman again) paid out £535. I stuck a few quid behind the counter for the staff.

I stuck about 20 quid on us to get promoted last season the day Cook was appointed.

As an ‘insurance’ bet I also stuck 20 quid on us to just finish in the play offs as that seemed a certainty.

Didn’t even bother doing a bet this year as I remembered that no matter what way the stars align, we will always be sh1t. Seems I got that much right at least

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

Decent bet at the time. I went for a Coronation Street accumulator. I got 250/1 on Kevin Webster having an affair with Rita, Ken Barlow being nicked for possession, and Curly returning to the cobbles as a transvestite.

My favourite was when Rommy tipped a horse and a few on here won off the back of it. The next BIG long odds tip saw loads backing it, and it ended up in the knackers yard (or as good as). Scenes.

I put £10 on Trump to win the last election.

I still refuse to accept the result.

I once did 10p bet at 100 to 1 with my mate whilst watching the female 100mtrs hurdle olympic final.

There were nine black females runners including gail devers, who was massive favorite. In true USA cocky fashion, Devers was all done out in gold chains and long false nails etc.

There was also an arkward looking white Greek virtually unknown runner. Greece had never won a gold in this competition. My mate jokingly said give me 100/1 on the white women winning.

Deavers shot off and was virtually 10 meters ahead when she fell over the last hurdle. She was so far ahead she could literally have stopped and walked around the last bloody hurdle. To add insult a blaze of white shot past the remaing runners to take the gold. I lost £10. But my mate has gloated about that story for 30 years.

Serves me right for assuming that white women can't sprint.
