Two take-away points for me:

Does a lot of work for charidee, but doesn't like to talk about it.

He'll do/say anything on TV for a few quid.

Had a child at the age of 18 and he and the mum are still together.

That's a plus I guess.

The rest is just weird.

WOW, that is very David Brent.

I tried not to judge too much, but the 'business man' photo is rather cheesy.

And investing in houses is hardly being a business man.

I *really* hope this site was written by his daughter when she was 14 as her first Media Studies GCSE coursework project.

That has to be the only possible explanation? Or maybe a team-mate got it him as his secret Santa? With that I am out of rational explanations.

It really does read like a fan site doesn't it.

I might do one: bit of a pose at the top, some positives about me and my character.

How I sometimes give to charity.

About my portfolio and ridiculous wealth. Maybe not that bit so much.

I was pleased to hear of his 'unswerving respect for women across the board'.

I can't help but feel like someone has convinced him this is a good idea, as he does seem fairly down to earth normally. When he was at Ipswich my mate bought some gym equipment off him once. I thought it was unusual, but kind of refreshing that a then Premier League footballer (on loan to the Championship) either a) bothered advertising and selling a treadmill for £200 rather than chuck it, and b) Went to the effort of greeting my mate on arrival, helped him carry it to his van and also had a bit of a chat with him, given he was a big Town fan. I know it's a small thing but I really don't think he's a 'big time Charlie' kind of guy. Think the fact he's still playing at Wycombe is probably testement to that too, especially if he has a £5m property profile. A 5% yield on that is probably twice the amount he's earning playing.

Having read a bit more of it, I think "his wife Katie" gets a few too many mentions.

It was her idea. He didn't have a choice.

"Surrounded by strong, independent women in his life, David has an unswerving respect for women across the board...

...As a staunch family man..."

I can read between those lines. They basically say "Hands off my man!"

Seem to remember he was kind and supportive on the pitch to Andre Dozzell when he had his serious injury (think Stockdale was the Birmingham keeper that day). Stayed with him while the treatment was going on, kept talking to him etc.

Definitely seems like a good bloke.
