Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa
Many won't agree but I love Del Shannon who had a small it with From me to you before the Beatles and John Lennon wouldn't then let Del record Twist and Shout.

How could John Lennon stop Del SHannon recording Twist and Shout? It was written by by Phil Medley and Bert Berns and recorded by several acts before the Beatles covered it, including the Isleys.
Also The Betakes hit number one in the UK with From Me To You two months before Shannon released his version.

Never head that before, thank you very much for that, I think you have just wrestled the TWTD soul boy crown off Glassers in one easy manoeuvre...
I am no musician and I realise that tunes get 'lifted' all over the place but I cannot help but notice that Hathaway's piano on this recording from August 1971 bears resemblances to Elton John's 1973 'Bennie and The Jets'.

It's not that you have picked two groups that I dislike the most, you are just tone deaf.
Never realised that was a cover version (well it is if you class Chrissie Hynde covering her own song but without The Pretenders), but always knew this was:
Apologies, just realised that you posted the wonderful Chrissie Hynde video as a remedy for the one time singer of The Smiths cover travesty (which I have not even accorded the credit of listening to) but I would have given Wicklow's post an uppie for the U2 were it the only track in the post. They were a good band once upon a time.
