2 Total Dead Rubbers to go this season..... 09:25 - Apr 20 with 2787 views | itfcjoe | ....what do people want to see from them? I'd quite like to see some minutes for Chirewa, Baggott, Simpson and Humphreys - or at keast some involvement around the squad. And a start for El Mizouni. With the Crewe game being against a side that can't go up or down in the league would almost be tempted to do a full rotation for the game - 7 or 8 changes to reward those who have been in and around the squad for the last few weeks without getting games Not massively fussed either way, but would be good to see the youngsters get a reward for a fantastic U23s season

Let’s see if we have possible solutions on our books already. It might also convince Simpson to sign a new contract if he can see a route to the first team

Yeah, I know but the pressure has always been on. I guess I'm clutching at straws a bit as I keep feeling there's something there that just needs to click without the expectations. Clutching at straws maybe.
2 Total Dead Rubbers to go this season..... on 12:55 - Apr 20 with 659 views | Chrisd | Regarding a lot of the loan players or those that won't be here next season, I wouldn't involve them in the squad. Out of the youngsters I'd like to see Baggott and Humphries given the last two games just to see how they cope. They won't have a better chance to play when these games are total dead rubbers. There's always a lot of hype about our young players with many that flatter to deceive when given their chance, but Baggott showed against Rotherham he's got a lot about his game already that looks mightily impressive. He could've been simply overawed, but he stood up to the challenge and he'll get better the more chances he gets. I'd still like a side strong enough to win those last two games to send us into the summer with a lot of optimism for what lies ahead.

2 Total Dead Rubbers to go this season..... on 13:14 - Apr 20 with 638 views | franz_tyson | Baggott has already proven he can cope at this level,so i don't see the point of sticking him ahead of Burgess for these next two games. Get him a good loan deal like Ndaba next season. Let the loan club give him the experience. I'd be interested to see if Humphreys can cope at LWB, though. An area that we genuinely need to improve in. Thompson and Penney have had enough chances without pinning down that position.
2 Total Dead Rubbers to go this season..... on 13:22 - Apr 20 with 629 views | Parky | Walton Burns Donacien Woolf Baggott KVY Morsy Humphreys Chaplin Celina Simpson With Chirewra on the bench. Never going to happen, but gives the youngsters a chance but also a strong side, rather than just a side entirely of youth. Unfortunately, I don’t think El Mizouni is good enough. (Hope to be proved wrong)

Why play Humphries out of position? Put him in the centre of the park with Morsy to give him his best chance to thrive and to influence the game. Lets be fair, Morsy has been looking for that midfield partner since he arrived.

Why play Humphries out of position? He won't be, he's spent the majority of the season playing there with the younger age groups and has been training with the first team in that position.

Baggott looks very promising but proven is stretching it a bit!

Fair enough. I know Phil mentioned he was playing there earlier in the season as it was seen as his best route into the first team, but has been playing there all season? I know if it was me, I'd rather play in a position that was more natural to me than in a position that was manufactured and I was learning on the job.

OK ... agreed it is... maybe shown he's not out of his depth is more appropriate. Point is....don't think we're going to learn much more about him in these next two games. Just needs to go out on loan. We've plenty of strength at LCB and you can add Ndaba to that who must be ahead of Baggott in the pecking order.

Is that how it works? That we have to gift a kid a debut in his favoured position? It could be LWB is a more likely route into the team than CM. Maybe a position more easier for a young kid to adapt to rather than the engine room of midfield.

Joe Piggott has 9 league starts ! In his first 4 or 5 he had 2 goals ..thats roughly 1/2ish.... surely given the same opportunities as MB he'd match Bonnes 13 which all came in a crazy run probably supercharged by being the local hero come good, I'm only saying he should get a fair cracking of the whip unless of course KM is keeping his powder dry with him and has plans to properly utilise him next season given he isn't going to be easy to shift.... would you move jobs to take less money? It's not about 'gifting' him his debut, it's more about giving him his best chance to succeed. If he's played CM all his playing career, it's more natural to do, his playing and positional instincts would take over. The fact he'd playing alongside our skipper too would help him as he'll guide him through the game or you'd hope he would. Playing LWB is quite an isolated position.

2 Total Dead Rubbers to go this season..... on 15:25 - Apr 20 with 463 views | clive_baker | I don't see any value in giving any minutes to players who won't be here next season. What that list looks like is anyone's guess, but I would imagine a good handful of Thompson, Bakinson, Celina, Norwood, Jackson, Carroll, Bonne will be on it, and perhaps even 1 or 2 more. It's a good opportunity to get some of those younger players around the starting XI.

RE: Simpson - to either see if he's good enough and persuade him to stay... or put him in the shop window. Plus, presumably a fee will be slightly higher if he has 1st team appearances on his CV?
| Trust the process. Trust Phil. |
