Courtois got them to the final and Courtois won them the trophy.

That save from Mane was outrageous.

I thought they were excellent. Defensively solid where Liverpool weren't. Looked after the ball well where Liverpool were wasteful. Took their chance when Liverpool couldn't.

I think they kept the ball when they had to ever so well. They defended superbly. Yes their keeper made great saves, but when he saved and it didn't go out of play there was a defender their to clear the second ball or make a block. Normally when a keep has a game like that one of his heroic saves eventually falls to an attacker and gets put in the net. But his defense backed him up tirelessly.

Trent on the other hand switched off like a pre-KMcK ipswich defender and they got a top in.

Out coached. Attack attack attack and hope they break. No plan B tonight.

There’s not a more over- and inappropriately-used phrase in football parlance than ‘out coached.’

Great defensive performance in the end but could have gone the other way had Liverpool got hold of some of their chances in the first half better and Courtois didn’t have such a blinder. Not sure Klopp could or would have done much more differently really - just didn’t go their way in the end.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

That’s just stupidly harsh. Liverpool weren’t at their best - rubbish corners, poor crosses and against a keeper who was superb. I don’t think that’s being out coached.

Klopp's answer was to keep bringing attackers on, and take off midfielders and his captain (Henderson).

When Henderson went off Liverpool were done.

I think when Carlo saw the Liverpool midfield thinning and all those attackers coming on he would've been pleased.

(Not quite sure why you're getting so angry about it btw, two down votes and 'Stupidly harsh' seems a little OTT for an observation on a team and manager that aren't ours. I like Klopp. I just think he got out coached. You have a different opinion. I'm not calling you stupidly harsh. No need for that).

Would agree with that, it didn't go Liverpool's way tonight but that's football. As Gerrard said I don't think Liverpool did much wrong, just couldn't find a way past an inspired Courtois. I'm not saying Real didn't deserve to win, in some respects they did what they do very well, but on another day Liverpool could've been 2-0 up at half time.

Remarkable for a team that has scored 147 goals in one season.

Couldn't beat any of the other top 4 teams either.

They really didn't. They just met a keeper who pulled off a string of saves and didn't quite finish as perfectly as needed to beat him.

As wins go, that was an absolute drubbing for Madrid.

Madrid scored two legitimate goals.

First one was offside by the letter of the law (however ridiculous that letter may be).

The first looked like it came off Fabinho, but not conclusive so the goal wasn't given

I do wish refs had been a bit more harsh on the play acting and professional fouls by RM in the 3 games with Man City and Liverpool. Honestly I thought Militao was genuinely dead at least 8 times over those games. Casemiro should have been sent off at least twice in those games and don’t get me started on Vinicius, that guy would last 2 mins in the prem.

I just find that level of play acting and sh1thousery hard to watch.

I didn't realise that and just looked it up, they drew with all the teams around them in the Prem, you would think with Spurs form this season they would have beaten them at Anfield.

Now there’s scraping the barrel for criticism given they netted nearly 150 in the last year!

Didn’t lose any either, unlike Manchester City who got doubled by Spurs then beaten in the FA Cup by Liverpool. The one point difference is what happened at West Ham - City drew that game whilst Liverpool lost. The goal difference, er, difference was down to the insane run of games City had near the end of the season where they scored 22 goals in five matches, interestingly all after they were knocked out of the FA Cup.

That’s not true though, is it? The difference was some poor finishing from Liverpool and one of the games of his life from Courtois. Not sure how much Ancelotti mastery was behind either of those.

This.
I think a few Liverpool haters are showing their colours. As a complete neutral I thought Liverpool were unlucky and Courtois was excellent. Neither of these things are brilliant coaching.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

How good were Madrid keeping the ball in tight areas? Really impressed especially when Liverpool were trying to press them. All of them comfortable on the ball, didn't panic and tried to play through the lines in that second half. They were a little too long ball in the first period, but changed it up after half time. I enjoyed watching them.
