Completely out of time, which is surely harder than getting it right. He also does the fast clapping and quick comer oh when the town thing.

erm it's referring to a male football team so seems ok to me...our womens team is sometimes referred to as the tractor girls... edit: I mean from a gender perspective - I don't like the name itself tbf... [Post edited 27 Jul 2022 11:37]

I prefer Tractor Boys to the generic Blues or Town nickname. Is more unique.

I absolutely hate Tractor Boys I had a meeting yesterday with a bloke in Brum and he asked where I was from and you guessed it - he replied "Oh, The Tractor Boys" It is a Sky induced nickname so I doubt it will ever go away, it is demeaning - Magic Jim Magilton hated it. ......but I do quite like Sweet Caroline

I also like it for its uniqueness and I suppose it fits in with general aesthetic of the Suffolk area It's a pretty well known nickname amongst football fans as well. And it's definitely better than a lot of other club nicknames What else would we be called?

If people are belting it out at a wedding or England have just won a 1/4 final vs. Germany or something it's acceptable. I'm not having 'good times never seemed so good' after we've beaten Forest Green 2-1 at home in the 3rd tier. Save it for the end of season promotion party. [Post edited 27 Jul 2022 11:57]

I didn't know it came from Sky. I first heard it an away match at Birmingham City. Home fans singing 'no noise from the tractor boys' as a derogatory wind up (same as 'pasty boys' for Argyle etc etc). But then we scored and hit back at Birmingham fans with '1-0 to the tractor boys'. Anyway, that's the first I'd ever heard it and always thought that was where it started...but I'm probably wrong!

That song has been around as long as i've known, absolutely mental how there's always a few who are always unaware of the second verse.

You are 100% correct, to the detail! - but after that Sky picked up on it and it stuck

I do recall The Sun mocked up a photo of Jim sitting on a tractor. I think he had a farmers’ hat on and might have been chewing straw. Probably why he hated it.

I don't mind being the tractor boys, embrace it I say. To the tune of go west with a full deepest Suffolk accent "Oooohhhh ahhhhh, we are Tractor Boys, ooooohhhhh ahhhhh we are tractor boys" and so on.

Originally applied to Earl Soham and I was never happy that it was nicked from them. https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/debenham-tribute-to-football-fan-who-coined-tractor-
