What was the ‘Trouble’ after the game all about? 09:07 - Aug 29 with 12869 views | Matt_Netherlands | Think we’ll all agree it’s not a good look and is a bit embarrassing. Must be quite a while since we’ve had that sort of thing after what in all honesty, is quite a meaningless home game (in terms of opposition and point in the season). Looks like it’s all barking, no biting plus a few young kids who don’t look like they were at the game but fancied a scrap? (Also yes…. Appreciate this isn’t “trouble” in the context of days gone by, but just strange to see something like this at PR these days)
What was the ‘Trouble’ after the game all about? on 09:17 - Aug 29 with 7479 views | DJR | Having got the train a few times last season and this, sadly this sort of behaviour is not uncommon as the away fans and home fans head in the direction of the station. My son said there were some fisticuffs reported on Saturday which I didn't see, and that happened a few times last season. It's all rather pathetic but I do keep an eye out, and don't show my colours, because it only takes one idiot. The stupid thing is that those young Ipswich fans with plenty of bravado would run a mile if real trouble broke out. [Post edited 29 Aug 2022 9:21]

I did wonder that about the trains on Saturday actually. Especially if you’ve got away fans cramming into the tiny 2/4 carriage trains that go over to Peterborough to change there. Can’t imagine that journey is too much fun at times!

There weren't that many Barnsley fans on Saturday, so that probably helped. I got the slow train to London, and that was relatively quiet, at least down the far end. From what I can recall, the Portsmouth games was the worst in terms of fans mixing on the train last season, but again I went down the far end and avoided it all. But I imagine the trains to places like Cambridge can get a bit lairy when we play them because they bring a big contingent.

Yep. Had a nice chinwag with a handful of Barnsley fans on the walk back to Burrel Road car park and we all came to the conclusion that the Harness ‘goal’ should have stood, the play off final and the match in general. Wished them a safe journey home and went our separate ways. Had my swear and cuss during the game. How it should be.
| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

Absolutely. What I don't understand is why we would have an issue with any team in Div 1. None of them is a traditional rival, and many don't have the resources we have, so the way some of our fans goad them, or disparage them, is appalling.

Been a friend off the Bobby since our school days. He’s a thoroughly decent guy. It’s astonishing the abuse people can throw at those looking to protect people.

Absolutely how it should be. Sadly there’s an element in all grounds these days of tvvats who want agro. Not sure why, whether it’s booze, Colombian marching powder, morons?

I linked up with a Barnsley fan to escort me to the station and we both agreed that the aggro was totally unnecessary. It has certainly got worse since lockdown and, as others have said, it is not good to see all these teens giving it big. There seems to me a big sense of entitlement with our fans- like in 2019. Not a great look to see the Police getting abuse....

About 10 or so Barnsley fans sat in a group, goodness knows why as there were empty seats in the away section! Got a bit silly when they got called out, the steward said they were throwing punches all the way down the stairwell.

More meant the kids at 1.50 onwards…. Hoodies up over their heads with baseball caps underneath, the over the shoulder man bags, some with their tops off. Look a lot more like the gangs which hang about certain parts of town.

It was pathetic, childish baiting of a police officer by a bunch of morons. He'll have been trained to take that position. He stayed very calm despite the tw@ts provoking him.

Unfortunately I see a bit of the trouble outside the ground. Punches thrown by both sides, mostly fat old men on the Barnsley side who quite frankly should know better. Not that I'm excusing our fans who were acting like morons. [Post edited 29 Aug 2022 13:00]

What was the ‘Trouble’ after the game all about? on 13:08 - Aug 29 with 5391 views | Parky | Not condoning any of what we see in the video, but there was a chap on Twitter claiming that a Barnsley fan randomly sucker punched him, as he walked with his elderly family member back towards the station. (I can’t find the tweet now, typically). Without trying to sound all masculine, if I saw any person being randomly sucker punched, I wouldn’t just walk on by. From the tweets, he claimed it was the rough looking fella in the green t-shirt, from the video.
