Truss’s cabinet apparently on 00:49 - Sep 4 by XYZ | Are you a Tory voter? You do come across the TWTD airwaves that way, whilst being a bit desperate to cover it up to try to maintain some "cred", which seems to be of importance to you - as opposed to nailed your colours to a mast. |
Not sure what you mean about Cred. I’m sort of Tory leaning in a way but haven’t voted for them for quite some time, in fact I didn’t vote for anyone last time. I quite like the much maligned and misunderstood Boris because just like me he has many flaws. I am a man with many flaws so I get it. Thing is - I didn’t vote for him as I am a remain sort of person. Looking back I can’t remember the last time I voted for anyone to be honest, I usually just draw a big penis on the ballet paper and and write some offensive words. The ballet paper by the way is logged, it isn’t secret no matter what the man says - we are all being tracked. I don’t think I voted for Cameron. I think I might have voted for Blair 1 but I didn’t vote for Blair 2 - and I never admitted to any of it anyway. In fact I’m not sure to be honest. wouldn’t have voted for Howard but may have voted for IDS, I can’t really remember. I don’t think I voted for Hague even though now I now think he’s a good egg. What put me off was his lying about his drinking capabilities, he also annoyed me when he was on that slide thing in America with a baseball cap. Quite frankly I can’t remember much, in fact some of the people I have mentioned might have never even been in a general election. You’re picking on the wrong guy, I just want to get on with my life and I care little of what people tjhink. but I am presently in a gay club but being ignored and not appreciated - although some bloke called Harold keeps hanging around. The good news is a Gin and Tonic is only £8 but they were £12 in Frank Smash ( I may have got that name wrong, it might have been something else, I thought it was called Frank Smash or even Smank Frash but as I was leaning someone said it was something else - I may report back, but them again I might forget this conversation. Harold says hi by the way.

Truss’s cabinet apparently on 23:38 - Sep 3 by jeera | What would you like to happen? It's all very well complaining about the non-inspiring Starmer, but repeating what everyone already knows doesn't make the situation change. Or you any more aware than everyone else. Suggest something practical. |
I read the linked article and was shocked that after everything Labour can only muster a 4 point lead. I am pleased to hear that the concensus is now that Starmer is a bit crap though as this certainly wasn't the case when I first started moaning about him. Practical suggestion.....get shot of him.

What action do you currently actively support to tangibly improve the majority's lives in the UK in the next 10 years? All you support seems to be continued Tory government. |
Either that or just commenting on a thread and a linked article! Getting rid of Starmer for Rayner, Burnham to return as an MP and then her deputy thus guaranteeing a win and slightly more progressive politics. I think you will find you have the last sentence arse about tit.

It’s going to be more of the same but worse as Yogi Berra I believe once said. It was in every Labour leaning person’s interest to keep Boris there and let him lose the next election. Now we have Thatcher back. Ruthless implacable and immoral.

Hang on, you've attempted to shift the entire context of your comment because it now looks foolish. You weren't talking about the Tory backbenchers, you were talking about the general public. Incredibly disingenuous of you and pointless given lots of people replied to that post and the context was very clear. The last part of your sentence is pathetic, I wonder how well you understand people given you think the Unabomber is good reading material and appropriate for a forum signature. Didn’t you continue to support the previous electoral liability, even after he managed to inspire people less to vote than TERESA MAY? I guess he did get a few kids to cheer for him at Glastonbury. [Post edited 4 Sep 2022 9:02]

Look, why do you think he was got rid of? Really, why? Take a moment to think about it. Was it because a tiny number of politically minded members of the commentariat were so outraged by him breaking lock down rules which literally nobody else cared about? I know I’ve boiled your brain over the last few months and I’m a red rag to your bull but you need to calm down and stop trying to constantly win battle that aren’t there to be won and apply some critical thinking.

you think rayner would guarantee a win? i like her, but she's a much easier target for the misogynistic tory press, and would reactivate the anyone-but-corbyn masses which saw boris elected

He was run out because some very self interested people realised that enough of the public were angry, that they were going to be in electroal trouble if they stuck with him.

Definitely more likely than vacuous, dreary Starmer. If keeping the Tory press happy is how to select a leader then we may as well curl up and die....or just parachute David Milliband-Blair in now.....same difference.

Why is it a valid criticism to call someone dreary? Surely it should be about their competence, intelligence and principles? Rayner would not win, imo. She is engaging but not especially bright so far as I have been able to tell. She will put many off with her strident approach. People seem to forget the type of voters that labour need to get hold of. Yes there is the old red wall stuff, but they need to get the middle grounders.

Agreed. I like Rayner, but she would never win a general election. She would antagonise too many undecided voters. Starmer is dull, earnest etc, but I think the nation is ready for a bit of honest endeavour, rather than more bullsh1tters and liars.

i'd rather have someone competent and slightly dull than a boosterish johnson/corbyn type who promises much and delivers nothing. millions of ex-labour voters are looking for that too, they've been burnt by corbyn and it'll take a while to convince them that the party is getting back to its values. much rather have a biden than a trump, a brown than a blair, a mckenna than a cook. the starmer/rayner ticket is much stronger for it's diversity

"Look, why do you think he was got rid of? " Because his MPs worked out he had become an electoral liability. The reason why was because many voters were disgusted with his lack of honesty around partygate. You clearly stated the public didn't care about it. You can double down all you like Chico, but on this one you were well off the mark. [Post edited 4 Sep 2022 17:09]
