Leaves the defence and mid the same bar injury cover But always a tinker up front I know it’s to suit the opposition and Jackson is gagging to play, and of course Ladapo will get game time… but that Davis and Ladapo supply line looks promising and needs further cementing

Tactical reasons, presumably. This rotation is working so often now that the basis for it must be sound.

I expected Ladapo to play. However, it is rotation rather than dropped. I am sure the players know where they are with McKenna. There is a large amount of picking the right type of player for the opposition. Away from home, I suspect we are expecting more space for the pacier players to run into behind the defence. You could argue it is harsh to drop Humphreys, but I don't any of us are too surprised with him only having made his debut on Tuesday. I am sure he will get more starts before the end of the season and plenty of sub appearances too.

The same way in which he was still being selected whilst struggling to adapt - the manager picks the squad on form and then picks the team on fitness.

He took him off on a hat trick the other night which seemed a bit bold, but Freddie did totally scuff a shot and then went down injured. Even if it looked like he was trying to save face! I'd have Ladapo up top today, but until the game is done it's hard to criticise the decision given how much stick Ladapo was getting just the week before.

We have a flexible system with lots of different player profiles. Mckenna likes to adapt to the opposition style, so its not about dropping a player, it's which attributes Mckenna feels we will need in the game today.

I suppose it's something everyone needs to get used to. McKenna seems to change it nearly every game. Personally I think we look a better team with Ladapo up top. Jackson and JJ aren't central strikers for me.
