I think they'll be plenty thinking about their next job after the GE.

Braverman - Would I Lie To You

Truss - Strictly Dumb Dancing

Rees-Mogg - Downton Abbey

All Tories of recent years - I'm Sorry, I Haven't A Clue.

But who will play the part of Samantha?

I dint think it’s an indication that he won’t stand again. Nadine Dorries went on I’m a Celebrity in 2012, lost the whip and was in the cabinet less than ten years later.

The Tories were in power then (not according Braverman), they are facing the worst wipe out in their history. He won't be the only rat looking for a way off that stinking ship.

Has he no shame? He left his wife who was devastated, and he is now bandying himself about on TV.

But then again, he is a bit of a sex god.

Unlike some other Tories, I don't think he's got much in the way of money as it looks like he was only a civil servant and special adviser before Parliament. And with a divorce settlement to fund, I rather doubt he can survive on an MP's salary. The reported £350,000 for I'm a Celebrity will no doubt come in handy but I'm sure he wants more. Interesting to see that he was until a couple of days suggested as a possible candidate for Chair of the Treasury Select Committee which would no doubt have opened up opportunities in the City. The fact that he has opted for TV suggests he found out he wouldn't get the role.

In any event, with his ego, I doubt he would be content as a mere backbencher, whatever his financial situation and the prospects for the Tories.

Bit cheeky.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Have you read it? There are thousands of people out there who lost loved ones partly due to his incompetence, reckless lack of care & possible corruption during the early days of Covid, who are understandably aggrieved & very upset that he's being given this opportunity to big up the sales of the book he wrote about it.

Not to mention him joining in #Partygate, breaking the very rules he & his govt. had made.

Yep, cos that’ll learn him.
He’ll get his 6 figure fee whether he lasts a week or sees it out to the bitter end.
I’m more concerned with how much it’s going to cost daveU in text votes to keep him in…

I was not justifying his position but merely explaining the actions of people like him who think it is their divine right to earn lots of money when their Ministerial career is over. And who use all their connections, to achieve it.

It seems he's the "look over there, a squirrel" distraction the Tories need to get something else on the front pages rather than their c*ck-ups.

Why was the whip not suspended from Johnson when he was sat on his backside on the beach whilst Parliament was in session? I can't really see the difference.

I think the ITV bosses need to look up the definition of celebrity which is:

‘the state of being celebrated’
or
‘a famous person, especially in entertainment or sport’

Matt Hancock is neither of these although renaming the show to suit him ‘I’m a tosser, get me out of here’ would be unfair on the other contestants.
