I really think Jackson doesn't add enough to this team. He scores too few goals. he doesn't win any headers. he doesn't pull the opposition centre halves about enough. And he doesn't have enough strength. I know this is a red rag issue with many that defend him. But a real weak link for me. We have to get someone in there as a number 9. Ladapo is better but in a rotation system we don't have enough behind him. |  |

I agree, he should be in a pairing to be effective, or in wide behind a 10, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him work as a lone front man.

His strengths are lightning pace and work ethic which are useful against a team that leaves us lots of space or has lots of possession against us. Problem is pretty much nobody does this. His decision making, touch, general control and finishing is pretty poor.
When he's been in wide areas and can get in behind he can cause a threat but even then for me his ability to pick players out has declined. Maybe more of an option for one of the wider roles but again unless he's played in with space I can't see him getting past a defender, which is a problem we're having with Burns already. |  |

Yep, in full agreement with that. When he signed a new contract, I immediately thought, "good back up player". Never expected him to start as many as he has, but Ahadme's injury and subsequent lack of fitness has probably assisted that. |  |

I don't like getting down on players but there comes a time when you have to draw a line.

I would expect that was on the basis of watching one match and hey are thinking finishing - so Ladapo, Jackson and Woolfenden/Chaplin possibly.
We have outplayed everyone this season. It is killing off games either in taking our chances or stopping the opposition that has been a slight weakness. | |

For all his hard work he starts as a striker so now and again we have to win 1-0 or 2-0 and he has to be scoring in those wins. I was there today and as soon as you see him starting to start to look at the midfield to see who will score because you don’t expect it to be him. I didn’t watch the game today but it did surprise me to see him start against a team who were so effective as a low block last time we played them and didn’t give him space.

Lapado is decent but there’s no strength in depth up front compared to Plymouth and Sheff Weds. Jackson is a reasonable squad player but he wouldn’t make first team at the aforementioned.

The really fcked up thing is that if we were to bring in 1/2 more attacking options I’m still absolutely certain we see KJ getting game time.
Seeing him in the starting line up, as the front man alone, makes me want to not bother watching/listening, it’s as predictable as day and night as to what the game will look like. |  |
