Utd youngsters 11:17 - Jan 12 with 3896 views | FrimleyBlue | Anyone else been surprised that we haven't brought in anyone from utd. This isn't me saying its wrong that we haven't. But I'm just surprised we haven't gone that route at all.

Utd youngsters on 11:22 - Jan 12 with 3070 views | Jon_456 | Not surprised at all. Our recruitment / scouting will cover a much wider pool of players than simply a few links the manager or coaching staff may have. We'll only sign someone from Man Utd if they're the best player available for the role KM wants. Im sure under Evans we would have utilised that connection more but we're run like a proper football club now.
Utd youngsters on 11:28 - Jan 12 with 3036 views | StochesStotasBlewe | Not really. Why would we. A decent looking signing in Broadhead who potentially could have a much higher future sell on price, Hirst, though on loan has experience at League 1/Championship and Luongo who also has experience at a higher level. There is also the possibility that none of manures youngsters would have been what KM and the coaching staff felt would improve the existing squad.

Utd youngsters on 11:30 - Jan 12 with 3002 views | Wallingford_Boy | Yeah a little, you’d have thought KM would know a few there that could do a job for our squad, but as others have said, we’ve done ok recruiting anyway, so guess they’re not needed. That Gazpacho fella may have been handy.

Utd youngsters on 11:36 - Jan 12 with 2930 views | LeBlue | Not surprised given our recruitment policy seems a lot more professional now. Also hopefully gone are the days when we always seemed to sign players who had played well against us in one match.

Erm. Ahadme? | |

Utd youngsters on 11:39 - Jan 12 with 2897 views | greyhound | If mckenna is here in another 2 to 3 years which I would say Is unlikely just because that's an absolute rarity these days and he seems so highly rated I would expect us to pick up a couple of players he has worked with previous as they come away from those academies. We also can't just load up with players with little senior experience when we're chasing promotion in Ernest. Just my feeling, but would luongo have been as prominent on the radar had they not worked together before... I don't know | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Utd youngsters on 11:40 - Jan 12 with 2880 views | clive_baker | I think there's a profile of loanee we're looking at, which is someone with league experience who we think can bring demonstrable quality ie TJJ and Hirst, and they're a little hard to find. The challenge with those players is that experience won't have been gained at United or Arsenal, so it therefore will be a 2nd or 3rd loan and they're players United have seemed to want to get out to higher leagues. Fernandez and Laird went to the Championship for example. The ones I imagine we could've taken would be Charlie Savage, Wellens etc but they're not ready and hence have gone to L2. I wouldn't rule it out next season. [Post edited 12 Jan 2023 11:41]

Way too harsh to say Ahadme hasn't worked.

Wasn't really saying much about how he will end up doing. More of a signing who we seemed to get because he'd played well against us in one match. Of all signings..and timing his is one which looks like the odd one out.

Surely Camara is the worst signing of the new era?

I thought Pellistri looked very good the other night against Charlton. Not saying we should sign him up though, just an observation!
Utd youngsters on 12:12 - Jan 12 with 2444 views | BigCommon | With UTD being a bit up in th air themselves when KM was appointed here. Perhaps "leaving them alone" was the right thing to do... I half expected a loan or two last January. But that was just an obvious link to our new manager.. When you think about it, Man Utd are actually a small pond in terms of all the elite academies out there. I'm sure KM and any of his hand picked staff, have had tabs on dozens of up coming youngsters from every academy in the land.. Most likely, the cream of which, will be looking for ,Championship loan, at least. But if Davis is anything to go by, then us mopping up one or two that don't quite make it at their Prem club by a certain age, but have all the "up bringing" aquired at top clubs. Is a good way to go. Broadhead, obviously falling into this category, too.

The withdrawal of several Man U loan players when he was sacked by Preston might suggest that wasn't the case!

Under Evans our scouting was the equivalent of when you go on a lads holiday to Kavos and you’d bring a female back with you. We’d go to Ireland every summer and bring an Irish lad back.
