It's a tough one with Whittaker as does feel like he has that higher ceiling because of output, but when I watch him I think he may struggle in the Championship as doesn't seem to have that much to his game |
Slightly different football up in the Championship though, I can see him developing and progressing.
Also, I feel the way we play really suits him. He would be a major step up on Edwards, Harness and an ageing Aluko - not that I have an issue with any of those. |  |

I'd gladly take the fact he" hasn't got much to his game " if it got us up this season
Next season is just that ...the investment into Whittaker would be just that wouldn't it ?

I feel the same when I watch Harness though, to be honest. For all Marcus' endeavour, his technical attributes won't match up with Championship football IMO. |

If you sign him for £1.5m and you go up it is well worth it, if he doesn't cut it at Champ level he'll still retain nearly all that value anyway so certainly wouldn't be averse to signing him even if have a couple of reservations re how he plays at level above |  |

I think many are forgetting that Whittaker hasn’t got a particularly track record before this season, and Swansea, who know him well, didn’t bring him back to play him. This looks to me like them selling while his value is at its highest, because he won’t keep this going. We’ve all seen players who hit a streak of form in a specific environment but never go on to repeat that elsewhere - we have plenty of ability in the no 10 options we have, we don’t need Whittaker and I doubt he’d come here anyway. |  | | |
