So for all the tears and emails about not getting Cambridge tickets 08:23 - Jan 30 with 6588 viewstextbackup

The beam back sales look pretty sht.

Club will think twice before doing something like that again I’d imagine

I’d have thought it would be a bear on sell out.

Says to me one of two things, thousands of people have IPTV, or there’s no interest in watching the game unless there in person

Not going, but that's cos I don't fancy sitting in the cold to watch it on a screen. If it were spring / playoff game I'd be up for it (if I couldnt get to the match)

So hope the club don't give up on the idea. Or maybe they some minor changes? Put it on in the beer tents in the fanzone? Or in the bars of the stands?

Is a good deal they are offering for sure.

Meant to be a warm 11°c in Ipswich on Saturday.

I thought it would’ve sold well, £6 including a pie and a pint, bargain.

You’re right. It’s a cracking deal. I wasn’t going to try and get tickets for Cambridge, and already committed to being at Ipswich Wanderers v Sheringham, I wasn’t going to let them down by saying I was going to watch Town on a giant tv instead!

Or people prepared to travel to Cambridge, but not (further in some cases) to Ipswich to sit in a stand watching a screen (but yes, this also links in to your IPTV/VPN point).

Edit- it’s about time we had a sensible streaming solution in football. Covid showed the way. It’s nuts that all clubs now stream but UK-based fans have to find workarounds.

People wanted to go and watch the game in person. Beaming it back to Portman Road to watch on telly isn't a substitute for that, everyone knows how to watch it on TV should they so wish.

I think it will in the end.

We're still 5 days away from the game. If they are selling on the gate there will likely be a lot of last minute sales.

Truly impaired.

I thought it would be popular too, looked a cracking deal. If I nearby I would definitely have gone, so maybe the majority of the moans were coming from outside of Suffolk.

I agree that it was a good deal. I'm surprised it hasn't sold out. However, it is really its for local people. People aren't going to travel a bit to watch the game at PR on a screen.

I wanted tickets to Cambridge but couldn’t get them even though we have been to most away games this season.

But I won’t drive a round trip of 300 miles to watch on a television screen when I can watch in the comfort of my own home. Perhaps if I lived nearer to Ipswich I might go.

I guess that is the reason the tickets aren’t selling well. We have a lot of fans all around the country.

It's a great deal - if you live in Ipswich!

If you don't - and I don't it's a long way to drive to sit in the cold watching a match you "should be" at, whilst not being able to eat the pie (because you're a vegetarian) or drink the pint (because it's sht and you're driving).

Let me think about that for a moment, a 400 mile round trip to sit in the cold to watch the game on a screen at PR with a pint that the bar staff won’t be able to serve quick enough and a cold pie or stay at home and watch it from the comfort of my own living room, saving myself £70 in fuel and as much beer as I can drink or be bothered to fetch from my fridge?

I know which one I’ll choose if I can’t be at the game in person!

Each to their own.

Watching it on my laptop for £10 or watching it with others having a beer whilst consuming a pie for £6 seems a good deal.
