Nicola Bulley on 17:31 - Feb 3 by Samuelowen88 | I think the implication, is she sits down on the bench for the work call. Lets the dog off the lead to run around whilst she is on call (think i read dog lead was on bench too?) Something then obviously happens, dog + river ? (Although dog apparently dry) to make her get off bench and forget phone. Implies it was something sudden + serious otherwise she'd pick phone up. Dog went near water/nearly fell in? She goes to get it and falls in? But then no signs of her falling in, and if dog wasnt wet it didn't jump in after. As others have said, hopefully answers can be found so family have closure. |
"Dog went near water/nearly fell in? She goes to get it and falls in?" This is my guess, she was sitting down talking on the phone, saw her dog getting too close to the fast running water, put her phone down, rushes down on slippery verge of the river to grab her dog and simply slips and falls in....not sure any dog would jump in to be honest, sadly it wouldn't understand to that degree,, Absolutely tragic..

Nicola Bulley on 17:17 - Feb 3 by J2BLUE | Surely the first thing we all do on such calls is mute our mic if we aren't speaking? Guessing it wasn't a video call. Just think speculating about her deliberately going missing when she has two young kids is a bit off. |
Why is that off? It has to be considered a possibility. It does happen, to rule it out until there is evidence to the contrary would seem foolhardy to me. I'm not sure youd mute if just dialled in, it's not like she was somewhere loud. What we haven't been told is how the call ended, did everyone say bye? Did she just go silent? Did she go silent and no one noticed, finished and all hung up?

The police will obviously consider all options. People without the full facts speculating just seems off to me. Other opinions are available. My experience on work calls is most people mute and one person usually gives some sort of update. At the end they say thanks all and then it's just a load of voices saying thanks and people leaving the call. I then immediately get back to work (or post on TWTD...) and wouldn't notice if other people stayed logged in. If it's a standard first thing check in like some companies have I doubt anyone would have noticed.

Save your rubbish jokes for another debate about politics or veganism. Its extremely odd and it really wouldn't surprise me if foul play occured. With everything going on, who's to say it's not a police officer?

tbf, there's only one poster who is making jokes about it, everyone else is saying that it is tragic, and speculating about what could possibly have happened. Obviously therevis loads of speculation, not least because the local community must be terrified if they think there may be a sinister angle on it. It's hard to try and believe that there could be a good outcome now.

Nicola Bulley on 15:52 - Feb 3 by Chondzoresk | First of all, I hope I am wrong and hope they find her safe and well….however my mind is looking deeper. The Police say she fell in the river. Really? Her Strava account says she did this walk and run along the river 1000s of times. She knows the paths. Her phone was found on a bench. She had been on a Teams call. So, she left her phone on a bench and decided to fall in a small river on a path she did literally every day. I just can’t believe she just “fell in the river” Look, I’m generally very suspicious of stuff like this and feel that there’s more than meets the eye at play here. |
Yeah, very odd and suspicious isn’t it

You must work somewhere very boring J2. If people didn't speculate about mysteries they'd never get solved would they. I'm not sure you're going to make detective I'm afraid

Jonny Bairstow broke his leg slipping on some wet grass playing golf. My guess is she runs after the dog at the side of the water, runs towards it. Slips over near the riverbank, injures herself in the process and falls into the river.

Nicola Bulley on 01:11 - Feb 4 with 4443 views | Brads | There’s no indication (from door bell footage etc) that she exited the river path. Dog always had ball but no ball there. Apparently the working hypothesis is that she fell into the river, perhaps when trying to pick up the ball from down the bank. Then the type of clothing that she was wearing and wellies would have quickly filled up with water so difficult to get out, especially as petite and slightly built (plus cold water shock). All sounds very plausible and I expect a body will be found soon. The only thing that makes me slightly doubt that they’re 100% confident with that theory or fully believe what they’re saying publicly is that the parents only did an emotional appeal very recently. Why put them through that if they believe that she drowned and that her body will be found sooner or later? Seems an unusual approach to take when someone’s believed to be dead and no-one else is involved. Already alot of press coverage and public interest so was another direct appeal needed? Perhaps to test the hypothesis and flush her out in case she is still alive.

Apparently she had stopped taking the ball with them on walks several days earlier. Generally speaking, even some dogs that are supposed to have retrieving from water as part of their genetic make-up, like my two (late) Italian Spinones, which have webbed feet, hate swimming. The first old boy of the breed I had would actually do 5m detours to avoid getting his feet wet in puddles. There were at least a couple of witnesses also out walkig who'd seen her 10 minutes earlier from nearby fields, but didn't report seeing any other people around, seems a big clue. Do hope she's found safe & well, but obvs that's becoming increasingly unlikely.

Nicola Bulley on 10:58 - Feb 9 with 2152 views | clive_baker | I see the specialist search team have concluded their search and found nothing. I imagine for her family it's a relief, and gives them continued hope that she might still be found alive. Hope for their sake that is the case, albeit can't help but feel it gets less likely as time goes on. It's certainly a baffling case.
