So, the underwater specialist search team on 13:12 - Feb 9 by itfcjoe | There's also a clip of him saying that he has asked her partner whether she had any stalkers etc and without being blunt that isn't really his job to investigate and by saying things like that it gets people speculating outside of it. He'd also spoke about the river before he'd been engaged to provide services etc that if she is in the river they'll find her within minutes. I don't in anyway agree with the trolling and abuse of him, but he shouldn't be giving updates like this, there is a reason there is a lead on these cases who communicates because they are the person with all the known information |
He ideally wouldn’t be publicly commenting at all; he’d just be doing as instructed by police. But I can see if he’s getting pelters why he’d respond. Also, if underwater search and rescue is his main job… just how many incidents does he have to deal with in a year? Can’t be that many surely.

I think he said he recovers 10 bodies a year on average in one of his many interviews

So, the underwater specialist search team on 17:29 - Feb 9 with 1186 views | factual_blue | Although a dreadful story, I would be greatly amused by the obvious discomfort that would be caused to the self-publicising expert who has searched with his highly sophisticated, infallible sonar if her body is eventually found in the stretch of water he searched. As others have already mentioned, he's clearly there for the free advertising as much as anything else. My apologies if the original version of this wasn't clear to some of you. So, the underwater specialist search team on 17:36 - Feb 9 with 1149 views | OldFart71 | Having over the last few months watched many programmes involving police investigation many involving murders (Not for one minute suggesting that this case involves murder) it seems to me that either the police end up arresting some chap who shall we say is not the most savvy of people because he happened to be around at the time. Not linking crimes when there's an obvious similarity to other crimes or missing important connections to a crime. Saying this young lady drowned when no obvious evidence except her being near a river seems arrogance of the highest order. Then there was a report that her phone and dogs harness were found to only later say the dog was found near or with the phone. I find this all very strange.

As a species we’ve always been attracted to the goulash. From the Roman amphitheatres to Victorian public executions, large crowds were attracted to death and blood. If mobiles were around then, people would have taken selfies with the decapitated heads of executed traitors. Edit. I meant ghoulish and not goulash. [Post edited 9 Feb 2023 19:55]

Who doesn't love a good goulash. By way of a side dish shouldn't the mainstream media beat a hasty retreat as well to stop feeding the beast?

So, the underwater specialist search team on 11:36 - Feb 9 by N2_Blue | But it's effectively impossible for her to have got out of the area she was in and not be caught on surveillance. The only plausible reason is she fell in the water and drowned. I think the diving team knew that so got involved as they thought they'd find her. Now that they haven't found her he's coming out with all sorts. But it's tidal water and searching water of any kind isn't easy. I hope they find her but it looking unlikely now, her body could even be out at sea. |
There was a “very small area” that wasn’t covered by CCTV, according to Police (onto Garstang Lane toward the A585). That’s why they were appealing for dash cam footage and potential witnesses in that area. So very unlikely but seemingly not impossible. Reminds me of the Corrie Mckeague case though in terms of they worked out what had happened to him but sadly just couldn’t find the body.

So, the underwater specialist search team on 11:44 - Feb 9 by noggin | Good point, although surely witnesses would have seen any boats in the area and police would be asking for them to come forward. |
Been watching docu on C5 (last 10 mins upcoming) showing plenty of footage of the area. The river is screened by extremely deep banks, very thick shrubbery & some trees - a boat wouldn't necessarily have been seen, esp since there only appear to have been two other people/witnesses around & they were some way away. Still hasn't been mentioned as a possibility by police or anyone connected.

They aren’t going to give us a running commentary on every idea and line of investigation. I’m sure they are keeping some info back as well waiting to see if anyone mentions anything like that.
