Morsy 19:12 - Mar 4 with 3618 views | noggin | Admittedly, I only saw the second half but once again, Morsy was immense. Seems to have calmed his temperament a little too.

Morsy on 19:25 - Mar 4 with 2871 views | BigCommon | Couldn't agree more..He does it week in, week out, too... Not sure what he has to do to win a player of the month award... That said, I think we'd all agree, it's good to see another experienced pro', in Luongo, adding some depth in MF. Once Morsy gets past this overhanging yellow , and if Luongo stays fit as well. That's a tidy midfield pairing for our run in, in Evans absence..
Morsy on 19:34 - Mar 4 with 2821 views | LegendofthePhoenix | I wonder if Sam has loads of dents in his walls at home - these last few games where he hasn't been able to "express" himself due to being on 9 yellows - well its all got to come out somewhere hasn't it?

Morsy on 19:36 - Mar 4 with 2809 views | clive_baker | He’s almost become a victim of his own standards now, gets overlooked by many for praise because he’s consistently at such a high level, but he’s a machine. As strong as an Ox, I bet he’s horrible to play against. Seems to have a level of footballing intelligence too, gets in the refs ear at the right moments, gives his teammates a rocket up them when he needs to. He’s such an important piece of the puzzle, I hope he can stay fit and suspension free for the remainder of the season.

I think you mean "Square Ball Sammy Lee" of the Liverpool team of the 1980s. Morsy is anything but a sideways player.

Morsey is my player of the year, Mr Consistant
Morsy on 21:59 - Mar 4 with 2368 views | ArnieM | As much as Humphries is an outstanding prospect , I think Morsy can relax a little more and just play” his” game/ role with more freedom when he has a more experienced MF alongside him. ML is frankly a bit of a Godsend at this stage in the season and think their partnership will get stronger as the season draws to a close over the remaining fixtures. But we also have Camara and Ball still to return…. What a bloody squad we’ve got , just a shame so many have had such lengthy injuries.

Was my thought as well. Mick Mills summed him up well post-match saying he's a pure 'between the boxes' midfielder where he can and will do anything that's required of him in that big part of the pitch. I think one of our biggest problems with Morsy and Evans (who I've always thought has been a bit overrated going by fan reaction) is that the pair of them were often too keen to get on the ball and have a few touches before moving it on which slowed us right down. Luongo gets stuck right in as you say and does things quickly and positively which helps us get the tempo going.

Genuinely think had we started the season with Luongo we would be easily top 2 rn

I would have thought that a mr statto like you would have at least backed it up with some stats, I bet you that 19/20 of his passes go sideways or backwards!

Ridiculous post from you. As the person who made the statistical assertion the burden of proof is on you to prove it. So go on, prove it. SB

Idiot. He’s always available and knows exactly where his teammates are. He takes the ball into space at sets up the next passage of play. What would you have him do, take risks in passing it forward and giving it away as that’s just what the opposition wants! It’s a team game and he understands what others can do.
