That said, I think we'd all agree, it's good to see another experienced pro', in Luongo, adding some depth in MF.

He’s almost become a victim of his own standards now, gets overlooked by many for praise because he’s consistently at such a high level, but he’s a machine. As strong as an Ox, I bet he’s horrible to play against. Seems to have a level of footballing intelligence too, gets in the refs ear at the right moments, gives his teammates a rocket up them when he needs to. He’s such an important piece of the puzzle, I hope he can stay fit and suspension free for the remainder of the season. |  |

As much as Humphries is an outstanding prospect , I think Morsy can relax a little more and just play” his” game/ role with more freedom when he has a more experienced MF alongside him. ML is frankly a bit of a Godsend at this stage in the season and think their partnership will get stronger as the season draws to a close over the remaining fixtures. But we also have Camara and Ball still to return…. What a bloody squad we’ve got , just a shame so many have had such lengthy injuries. |  |

Was my thought as well. Mick Mills summed him up well post-match saying he's a pure 'between the boxes' midfielder where he can and will do anything that's required of him in that big part of the pitch.
I think one of our biggest problems with Morsy and Evans (who I've always thought has been a bit overrated going by fan reaction) is that the pair of them were often too keen to get on the ball and have a few touches before moving it on which slowed us right down. Luongo gets stuck right in as you say and does things quickly and positively which helps us get the tempo going. |  |

Idiot. He’s always available and knows exactly where his teammates are. He takes the ball into space at sets up the next passage of play.
