Ban Drag Shows Now!!!!!!!! on 17:00 - Mar 30 by Illinoisblue
It’s shooting fish in a barrel when comedians and talk shows interview Trump fans at rallies. It’s almost cruel but maybe it’ll make one simpleton stop and think. (It won’t)
Meanwhile here’s how Republicans react a day after school kids were shot dead.
Interestingly enough, a few right wing outlets(including the Telegraph over here) are running with the angle that the latest school shooter was transgender as a motivating factor.
And not their mental illness. Which they're happy to run with when a racist yahoo shoots one up.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Then don't take your toddler to a 'sexualised drag show'.
Take them to to an entirely wholesome panto where you will never see men in frocks cracking jokes and dropping poorly concealed double entendres instead.
I presume you've gotten caught up in the moral panic about the increasingly popular phenomenon of 'drag story time'.
Which involves blokes in dresses reading fairy tales to children. As opposed to pantos, which involve blokes in dresses being IN fairy rales...

I think the ‘right’ reacts because some people in the name of being liberal try and defend the indefensible
I’d take my kids to panto and have done so, I probably wouldn’t do a drag story hour because I’ve got no interest in it
But there are some examples of these drag story hours, usually in the US when it looks more like a hen do. Where you have people in drag, with massive fake tits barely covered up walking around in a g string with little kids there - now that clearly isn’t ok and 99% of people wouldn’t want their kids at that event any more than they’d want them in a strip club
But people will defend that because it is on their side of the argument

really ?
I think you are just putting up something silly rather than anything that smacks of a reasoned argument
but I am sure you will point us all to where you read this
meanwhile I will point you to the fact that attendance is not compulsory, just don't take your kids

Yes trump jr and other Coke-ravaged loons have played up the trans angle. There was a chart going around that in the last x years of 2,376 mass shootings, 4 have been committed by trans people
So fundamentalists have used violence to intimidate the performers. Are we to refer to this as part of this supposed 'cancel culture', when righties use intimidation ?
These performances were not part of any story telling, by drag acts. Those attending new exactly what it as about and no children other than babies attended, as
"it was from a show for mothers with babies too young to understand adult themes, comparing the performance to "parent and baby showings" at cinemas. "As it should go without saying, babies of a young age aren't able to grasp the plot of an intricate thought provoking movie.. or comment on the latest exhibition at the national portrait gallery," the statement notes."
This is not at the level of Mary Whitehouse and her lot trying to ban The Life Of Brian, but something closer to the Taliban and its zealotry about how others should behave.
I doubt if those protesting had any idea of what this was about beyond the lies spun by the 'wokey cokey' media - where anything that suggests the 21st century has to be attacked, violently in this case.
In another thread we laugh at the stupidity of hill billies at a Trump rally, for telling us how something, they had not read was wrong, because they had been told it was wrong. No real difference here.
Perhaps mothers who have just undergone child birth are not so screwed up about their bodies and nudity, more so when they are with like minded souls.
I suspect most behind these protests are male. Sexually inadequate/frustrated wokey cokeys who need a target to explain their failings.
I don't happen to like Jim Davidson. In fact, I loathe him and all he represents. But if a commercial venue wants to have him perform, then so what. He and his audience should not be threatened nor made to feel intimidated. I am well aware of the danger his sh it can cause. But it is the price of democracy, (though some might say his tickets are the price of bigotry )

Yes really, here is a 'family friendly' drag show, that 'baby' at the front must be really advanced to be walking around as well
This is why, it is impossible to debate on these subjects - because we'll get a yeah, but, argument as opposed to saying that this is completely wrong for young children to be going to.
And people will then claim that I am trying to equate these to those reading a story in a library, which I'm not.
As with anything there is a spectrum running from a panto dame to this and where people draw the line on what they think will be acceptable is different - but anyone who would take their young children to this needs their head checking.

He obviously can't watch because it's so traumatic. Go/don't go....your choice.
Tbf this thread deserved to appear so much earlier in the international break!

I noticed you edited out the other video, which was a show specifically designed for parents who have babies. The show was targeted at parents.
It seems they received enough threats that it isn't safe for them to perform anymore.

The threats they've received are bang out of order, but individuals on both sides (sorry) of this debate are capable of bad behaviour. I can't bare the women, but did you see how that Posie Parker (or whatevrr) was treated in new Zealand the other day? She was given the mob treatment if you didn't see it.
As for the Joe's video, my personal opinion is that mixing a show where people wear little but sexualised garms and spread their legs wouldn't be something I'd want my child seeing. That's because I want to let them discover their sexuality when the time is right and not before. What's the rush? Why do we want to adultify kids?

Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

I'm not saying both sides aren't capable of bad behaviour, just pointing out that the context of the video (that's now been edited out, so not the LibsOfTikTok one) was massively distorted and they then had to shut it down. Worth bearing in mind though that LibsOfTikTok is a reasonably hateful person.
Would I want to take my kids to one of those shows in the video? Probably not, although I have a feeling I'd need to know more about this other than a short clip to comment fully. Do I think there is any real damage being done? Probably not.

I'd put that in there, before watching the whole video and reluctant to share that Dominique Samuels as don't particularly like her or her viewpoints.
But this is where the problem comes from for me - the right will go after it and show it all in it's worst light and fire people up. The left will be blinkered and bat it away and not accept any potential criticism of it.
The video I have shared is clearly wrong; I have seen dozens of others I'd say are the same - but I've also seen 'shocking' videos of a kid rubbing the crotch of a drag performer which is shared widely but looks to me as though it is just a kid interested in the material and the performer steps away and carries on but it is held up as sexualising kids which it doesn't.
But there can be no nuance or debate - either all drag shows are the work of the devil, or anyone who thinks any part of them is beyond the pail is a righty who needs to butt out
