Is it only me staying with the one game at a time mantra?

God forbid this place if we lose on Saturday and Wendies win.

(Secretly I am of course feeling pretty positive)

Given Exeter have lost 5 on the spin, fans say they have injuries and may have to play a few kids too. They are on the beach as will be staying up, see latest results I think we have every reason to be extremely confident.

Posh and Barnsley were both impossibly hard games, on paper, for the end of the season to try and secure promotion, yet we absolutely pi55ed them. The Barnsley game just epitomised everything good about us, we started well and could/should have been 1 or 2 goals up inside 15 minutes, fluffed our lines (as we have done numerous times this season in front of goal) they then took control for a good amount of the rest of the first half, but without really threatening a goal and where ITFC teams in the past would have folded mentally, there was clearly utter belief by every man in a blue shirt that if they just continued doing the same things, the result would come. 2 goals in what, 3 minutes, out of nowhere and it's job done. Second half the monkey was off the back and we just battered them all over the park, could/should have been 5 or 6 in the end (including missed pen).

Yes, it's only league 1, but this isn't the same ITFC that we've seen over the last 15/20 years that choke every chance they get to do so, the whole club is on the up.

COYB!!!

Yeah, and sandwiched in between, was a hard fought win against Vale... This team just keeps finding ways... Like, we need 2pts from 2 games to make it official. If anyone is still worried about us going up. Then I suspect they are the sort that never leave the house, just in case a meteorite strikes them.

We need 2 points to be effectively uncatchable, so a draw on Saturday makes it edgy. I am confident we'll win but it's not in the bag yet.

Thanks, I've edited post now.... All the same, I can't see further than 3 pts Saturday...And I don't think SW will max out their 2 remaining games, either... Very tricky final game with Derby, who will need something to guarantee their P.O. spot.... The Posh and Barnsley results have sealed for me...

Hopefully the players are. The manager will be, I am sure.
On Saturday we will either stuff them or it'll be a nervy draw/1-goal win.
Either way I cannot see us not going up. I doubt SW will win both their games for a starter and I cannot see us getting less than 2 points.
But this is football so......

I think in terms of focus, why not target 100 points, 100 goals and that L1 winners medal? It’s doable and a good target to aim for.

But that means a big win Saturday. Usual preparation, usual intensity, do what we’ve been doing for weeks and get the job done. Then celebrate.

Edit: in other words, carry on doing what we’ve done and see it through.

Not at all. It's a stupid idea imo. Win promotion then get the flares out and go mad altho flares are bad. But you get my point.

As said above. The 2900 in attendance is the support.

Flares. Groups and hero's welcome is to much and yes it can be seen as offensive to exeter as it makes it look like they're a walkover and the job is done. Like David burns said

Exeter won't even see it. You're overthinking this. Again.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Indeed. I'm still conscious of the Curse and am keeping my powder dry. You'll be pleased to know I have an awful lot of things to say, eventually :)

I’m with you.

There is no other thing that important for itfc and the supporters right now, prepare for and focus positive energy on performing and getting a successful result at home to Exeter.

Then a party can start.

If not, we are all back for a week of over thinking and over talking - this message board would then be anxious and panicky! We can avoid all that, one game at a time.

It's how Liverpool fans, for example, greet their players at Anfield before a huge game and there are countless examples of this abroad as well. I get people's caution and I'm terrified of us f6ckinfg it up too but it's pretty obvious that the point is not to celebrate but to hopefully cheer the team over the line from the moment they show up.

Exactly.

1. It's not a celebration, it is encouragement ahead of, hopefully, the final important game of our season.
2. McKenna laid the foundations for this. He switched the team's home arrival to one where they arrive on a bus where fans would be welcoming them off. This has happened all season, just in a smaller, less organised way.
3. Blue Action have taken the next natural step. We have a huge game. The players will know how much this means through these actions. What it means to represent the Town, Suffolk, and East Anglia. It is about intentionally, systematically rebuilding that ethos.

I would expect this to be lost on someone who doesn't think people in the North Stand should sing.
