Is it only me staying with the one game at a time mantra?

God forbid this place if we lose on Saturday and Wendies win.

(Secretly I am of course feeling pretty positive)

I think about 4 games ago I said on here that I see Exeter as a potential banana skin - but since then they have gone on a pretty significant run of bad form. They are a stubborn side to break down and I suspect it will be a close game, but I am much more confident of a win now than I was back then.

Bit of a misreading of the point of lining the streets, that's not a celebration so much as added backing on a vital day, least that's how I've read it.

Whilst I appreciate that. 29000 fans in attendance is backing on a vital day.

Lining the streets with blue flares going off is a celebration that's been seen for winners ala rangers under Gerrard etc.

It's how it's done imo.

Also factor in the fact that Exeter are on the beach, and they would hate to see their fiercest rivals win the title....

Did we ever have a formal exorcism of Evans' spirit? That could be key to all of this.

It's how Liverpool fans, for example, greet their players at Anfield before a huge game and there are countless examples of this abroad as well. I get people's caution and I'm terrified of us f6ckinfg it up too but it's pretty obvious that the point is not to celebrate but to hopefully cheer the team over the line from the moment they show up.

Me too. Targeting promotion is like making love to a beautiful woman. Best to take it one round at a time and only celebrate when you reach the climax.

Gamechanger's takeover of Town was like making love to a beautiful woman. They came in, made all the right noises, took care of business and left all concerned with smiles on their faces.

It takes something to finish in style whilst also keeping clean sheets!

The performance levels in recent games give me confidence.

We need two draws, to be guaranteed, assuming SW win both their games. We could lose both and still have enough points.

I can see SW winning both, I do not see us losing one and drawing the other game. I would though prefer to get the job done on Saturday.

I'm definitely still cautious, and I'm one of what seems a small minority unsure about the merits of lining the streets for the team bus when we're not yet over the line.

I get the sentiment, but would prefer to wait till the job is done before we start celebrating!

Yeah I'm not keen on it at all. Talk about tempting fate!

I do, but it's clearly not intended that way and it would be a massive stretch for Exeter to get offended by it. It's just a show of support at what we hope will be the final hurdle.

As said above. The 2900 in attendance is the support.

Flares. Groups and hero's welcome is to much and yes it can be seen as offensive to exeter as it makes it look like they're a walkover and the job is done. Like David burns said

Problem here is - correct me if I'm wrong - Evans still has a small stake in the club, no? (about 5% IIRC)

Don't quote me on it, but I think it's dwindling to 2.5%. Every time the US owners inject more equity into the club Evans' shareholding is watered down, which is bloody lovely.

Liverpool do it in their big champions league games and big home games.

We aren't Liverpool granted but having fans cheer some players in isn't any big deals IMO.

The problem is that teams with nothing to play for & therefore no pressure, sometimes just start enjoying playing the game & find a fluency which they couldn't do when tense & fearful of losing.

There are no guarantees, freaky results happen in football (eg Argyle 0 - 2 Lincoln on 10th April) & Saturday is a potential banana skin. Seriously hope I'm wrong of course!

Basically I’ll be pretty gutted if we don’t win the league.

Sounds silly considering it means nothing really, but I just want to witness that.

Not a chance KMc or his team will let standards slip. So fans can act how they wish, only thing that matters is KMc and his preparation

We’ll be good again... one day
