Agreed and in that sense it was nice to see them immediately cracking on with the work on the pitch.
I've always thought let's target top place. Always aim high. if we get second we are over the line and that's fine as that's the real priority. We did it!

I remember Brentford coming to Colchester a few years ago (2014?), already promoted. They came to party and probably doubled Colchester's gate, even though runner's-up was the only place they could finish.

I agree, Vale not an easy team to come up against particularly on that pitch. There's every chance it goes the other way but something tells me we are finishing top. Maybe the celebrations will take their toll on both of us.

I want to win it. I shall be disappointed if we don't. Yes, promotion was important, but it's already secured. We're unlikely to add further Euro trophies to our cabinet in these days of sovereign wealth investment, so I'll happily fill it with whatever we can, including extending our two third tier trophies to three. | |

Doubt many are that fussed about winning the league. Nice to finally get a promotion after all these years but winning the third division doesn’t exactly look that impressive in our honours list.
Plymouth deserve it anyway in my opinion. They might not be scoring the goals we are but they haven’t had a single dip in form all season which is incredible really. Done it on a fraction of our budget too. |

Frankly I am so fu**ed off with Plymouth playing the "nobody pays any attention to us " card I hope they blow it and we win.
PC wise I also fed up of comments saying Schumacher deserved manager of the year because he had no money bleat bleat. OK KM has had money but look how It has been used. He has built something special a team that to me is exponentially improving game by game and laid foundations not only for next season but for years to come. The impact on the fan base is unbelievable He could bring in any player and have the implicit trust of the fans now in my opinion that makes him more than manager of the season
