When the new season rolls round, firstly, do we expect Pan Camara to be here and given a chance? Or has missing the entire season meant everything has changed around him since signing?
Secondly, if he does stay, which position is he challenging for? Or should it be who's position is he challenging for?
I don't know anything about the guy really, so I'm curious where he fits and what he realistically brings to the table. He appeared to come with some decent reviews, so I assume he's no mug!

Camara was destined for the Championship according to a fair few plymouth fans, alot were suprised that he joined another league 1 side. I think he will be a big part for town next season, good ball player, able to create space for himself and get out of tough situations.. finishing hasn't been his best attribute, but we've seen flashes of his pace and directness when he did play.

From that highlights reel, his ability to run from deep through packed midfield and defences and remain on his feet, keep the ball and get his pass through looks different to anything we have. He looks happy to play high risk football, and looks very good at it (but then they didn't show the times he lost the ball!). With Morsy and Luongo both into their 30s, Camara has a longer shelf life, and certainly looks capable of making a mark in the Championship. Excited to see what he does.
I think Town have invested too much in him re his rehab to just give him away. I think he’ll be here next season.
He has an engine, can run with the ball, dribble and has legs 10ft long. When fit, he’s a big threat in the middle of the park. As I said in another thread, maybe the makeup of our midfield might be tweaked a little to compete in the Championship. Maybe it’s more about guile, than physicality. Players like Camara and Humphries alongside a Morsy or Luongo ( rather than those two together?) might be what we see more of.
We play with high intensity and press high. Imagine the gazelle attributes of Camara in thd midfke if that? A bit mouthwatering for me tbh!

Any serious answers? I'm genuinely interested.
We keep him don't we?
I'd like Morsy and Luongo (if he stays) to go on forever but they won't so perhaps the medium-term future of the midfield pairing could be an injury-free Camara and Ball??

I wonder if he'll be next season's Aluko (but younger and fitter) - an option to keep control of the ball going forwards and unlock defences.

I think he's very different to Aluko tbf - Camara is more about pace and aggression rather than close control - he isn't the type of player to keep the ball like Aluko does but offers a different threat moving us up the pitch quickly with the ball...

People on here are so puerile aren’t they, just can’t have a grown-up football conversation. For me I’d see if he can go out on a season long loan to Lens.

Maybe an alternate in the Burns role, then - can he play wide, as well as through the middle?
Or do we dispense with one of the controlling midfielders (the Morsy/Luongo/Ball/Evans role) for more penetration instead (also using Humphreys)? Might make sense if we're not having to work our way around final third blocking positions so often.

When there was talk of I'm leaving Plymouth there was a lot of chatter about him going to the Championship. He's industrious so I anticipate cover for Morsy/Luongo.
