Get out of our club 22:41 - May 7 with 11208 views | lunatic1988 | I know the club can’t probably do much, but seen a few videos circling today of the baby beater in the fanzone, bloke makes me feel physically sick as he walks round like he has no care in the world. Surely a petition or something would make the club stand up and notice, hate him being around kids and families knowing what his done Sorry for negative post after a tremendous season [Post edited 8 May 2023 12:25]

Get out of our club on 08:32 - May 8 with 6502 views | Mullet | Problem is, he's served his time. The club can't do anything unless he's out on licence and breaking some of the T's and C's. They'd be up for discrimination quicksharp. Also, fans beating the sh1t out of him just gets them nicked and him victimhood. I've not clocked him at a game for months but he seems to keep his head down. What can be done exactly?

Completely agree with you mate, he still goes. See him at most games. Don’t think nothing can be done, it’s just stomach turning seeing him in a vicinity with lots of children about

What do you mean by 'up for discrimination'? The Football Club is a club, and can determine who they allow to attend games. They would not be breaching the criminal law or human rights or equality laws by banning someone on this basis, and I can't see that there would be any contractual provision in their relationship to the EFL that would prohibit it. I'm not saying they should necessarily take that course, but I can't see that anything would prevent them.

I don't know who this individual is though they seem notorious. I agree with a club setting standards of admittance, but if we're not all DBSed and vetted.... wouldn't it be discrimination to ban individual cases. If we are talking people that have served time for awful stuff, they sit among us. I don't know the severity of this persoms prior crime, so I'd recommend the OP speak to the club and police re their concerns.

The club are aware already. It was a very serious offence that for some reason only saw him behind bars for a matter of months. https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/21800054.baby-assault-man-jailed/ He’s a regular home and away, as others have said it always makes me feel very uneasy to be around this despicable human being. Practically speaking I’ve always assumed it’s been hard for the club to do much about it, but maybe they could just ban him? I’m not sure.

Generally speaking it would have to be rooted in his behaviour at games, the implication here is it'd be because of his horrendous conviction. The club would likely have to show they're banning anyone with a (similar) conviction. That's not likely to be a can of worms they want to open. Some lawyer would happily take up that challenge costing them time and money regardless. I'm pretty sure given the size of the community they are well aware too. I'm amazed he has the balls to attend and no one has slapped him about either, but that's by the by.

why does he even go? you'd think he'd be so ashamed he'd keep his head down
Get out of our club on 10:22 - May 8 with 5600 views | Darth_Koont | Maybe someone can have a word with his remaining friends and family re: him attending as this probably isn’t going to end well. But I don’t think there’s anything fans or the club should do. It’s a sentencing/justice concern that has nothing to do with football and, essentially, it’s the same issue if he is anywhere in public – from going to work or going shopping.

I don't know this man, nor have I ever heard of him. It seems very grim that he's amongst us but what can anyone do. It wasn't a sexual predator crime or premeditated, so I think kids are safe. He should be behind bars though

I don’t know him, thankfully, but I suspect if he was capable of feeling shame he wouldn’t have battered a baby.

Havnt got a clue…I don’t know the bloke and don’t want to know him mate, picked up on him from a few conversations going around on Twitter about him. Proper scum. No doubt he’ll be mixing around the fans at the park today.

Get out of our club on 11:50 - May 8 with 4888 views | catch74 | Is he the one that got a job with the security firm - who were then fired because they hadn’t done their background checks? If he shouldn’t be working in that capacity/ he’s got the criminal record for that particular crime then surely there’s grounds to ban him - as someone else said even for his own safety. Sickening crime, personally wouldn’t want him in a family centred environment and with multiple people knowing who he is.

Because it's 'only' assault. Any know if he's a ST holder and where he sits? If its anywhere near me, a slew of people ringing up to move seat might make the club pay, slightly closer attention.

I don’t know about this. The club is a privately run business and can presumably refuse to admit anyone they choose.
