Correct Flash. But can I ask how our unbeaten run or being top after 3 games has any relevance to a posters in game thought about an at the time struggling defence. That's the bit I don't get. It's not me saying you shouldn't comment on an in game thoughts. Many posters don't like that and feel the forum should be shut down during a game. Well you'd think they would as they don't agree with live in game thoughts.
But you were right. They were awol on occasions. But they weren't offered much cover at times from a midfield who just couldn't pass a ball today.

Actually if somebody had said 9 points from 3 games to start, 5-1 in goals for and against I wouldn’t have believed them either. I’d have been happy with 4! Yet some are still unhappy and whining about what individuals (humans who are allowed to make the odd mistake) did or didn’t do.

Surely no one can expect to post that statement with no context and expect people not to question it after we then don't conced.
A simple where was our defence for that xxx moment avoids all this.
There is an in game chat room for live reactions and one cannot expect other people to know one is speaking about 1 specific moment in a 90 plus game without making that clear.
Over the course of a season sometimes we'll play well, others might be harder work but over the course of 3 games so far one can't deny our defence has been solid.

Leeds will be our toughest game yet, I think they'll be better away from home with the pressure of Elland road. We'll need to get massively behind the boys and make it tough for them. Win that and we're basically champions - I'm not even sure if I'm joking when I say that.
Best thing about all these wins is that it keeps the budgies away, most of them anyway! | |

Reflecting more on what annoys me it is the manner of the criticisms in the context of reality. "[Player] WTF" X2, "bloody defence", "awful" midfield.
Clearly not. 9 points from 9 after promotion, undefeated in 21, best team in Europe's top five nations across 20 and 15 games, 1 goal conceded, top of the league.
And because the performance wasn't faultless, we get these extreme reactions. Most of which are seemingly because Aston hasn't bought a player to take the place of someone the poster has been complaining about all summer.
And even though the foundation for these comments were made throughout the summer, we have to pretend they weren't, and not comment on it, due to the emotion of the moment. It doesn't wash with me. [Post edited 20 Aug 2023 21:25]

What more are you after?
I've said we won a game we didn't perform well in and that's all that matters.
I don't feel there were any specific good performances yesterday to comment on. We won which is the main thing but I can't say I'd personally give anyone more than 7/10 yesterday. That's not being overly negative for negatives sake it just wasn't a good performance imo. |
The thing is you used the caveat "but we won so who cares" in nearly every post as a get out clause for posting a continuous streams of negativity.
It's incredibly transparent, the fact you think others can't see what you're doing is insulting their intelligence.

That's fine. But 'most'of my replies in this thread isn't about my personal thoughts on the football its been my defence of armie and his own in game thoughts. And sometimes when it is my thoughts it could be use of wording that rubs people the wrong way rather than being wrong tbh. Awful instead of not great today perhaps.
But mainly my thoughts on this thread was mainly about arnie and others in game thoughts. I think they should Be welcomed without ridicule after with thoughts that aren't relevant to the in game emotions at play. |

Yes, Stokie does have one aim - to have an adult conversation. While some of his views aren't shared by every single member of the board he has always given opposing voices a discussion and a right to reply.
What I don't see him do is take swipes at sections of the board using passive aggressive blurbs or weaponizing a tool for those in a mental health crisis. Have some self awareness, it'll go a long way. | |

Like I said. I've kept away from stokie. If he does the same, things wouldn't happen. Some self awareness from him would go a long way.
