Agreed. It's a versatile option to have in the squad. McKenna talks about versatility a lot. Williams would offer a great deal of competition for Clarke.

Norwich and United fans always said he had fantastic ability but lacked drive and effort. If true, seems strange as McKenna and Ashton both want players who will give their all at a minimum. |  |

I think that’s more likely. Probably spells the end for Leigh as Williams can cover that side but leaves us with Davis, Williams, JD and Clarke. Makes sense really given the injuries to Donacien and Clarke’s ongoing fitness issues. HC also an option in the middle potentially. All about versatility innit but ultimately you would have to say Williams in for Leigh is an upgrade. Not knocking his contribution at all, he’s been solid. [Post edited 22 Aug 2023 17:35]
