Sadiq Khan as an existential threat to London Jews? Who’d have thunk it?
Par for the course from the pro-Israel lobby. Which has largely become a nexus for right-wing loons, weaponising tools and ethno-religious fundamentalists.
That's odd. According to you the BOD and Margaret Hodge were part of the Israel lobby.
It's as if pro Israel organisations and people have a wide range of opinions and are not part of some group conspiracy that you can demonise. You might as well go all Soros on us.

Sure, because Sadiq Khan is perceived as being on their side.
But for Susan Hall and the CFI, he isn’t so the tactic of raising the spectre of antisemitism against political opponents comes out. Hodge and the BoD have used exactly the same smeary nonsense with their opponents.

Nasty disingenuous edit. But expected.
Luckily, I’m heading out so I’ll leave you to it.

In short, it’s a conspiracy theory invented out of a real planning concept, but twisted to imply governments impose these cities as a method of control. It’s right up there with GPS trackers in vaccines and all that nonsense.
Speaking of which, the Venn diagram between anti-vaxers, anti-equal rights, 5G conspiracies, Covid deniers and 15 minute conspiracy theorists seems to be a circle. It’s perpetuated by the same ‘internet experts’ and populist gobshoites at places like GB News. And it’s a global phenomenon (potentially up there with QAnon now idiot MPs are giving it some legitimacy). Nick Fletcher (Tory of course) brought it up in Parliament in February, call the planning concept of 15 minute cities an “international socialist concept…that will take away personal freedoms”.
(I know you know this, just adding a bit of additional context for anyone who hasn’t come across this latest paranoid conspiracy).
A friend said they have started doing it in Oxford already, when I asked him to give examples of this, he couldn't give me any
Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Almost as shameful as an 82 year old being forcibly removed by burly Labour thugs.

They’ll use the same anti terrorism laws that were used against Walter Wolfgang, no doubt.
And no Dryas, that’s not me excusing this man’s dreadful treatment or using Whatabouttery before you start blabbing. Just explaining to Ulla why plod were likely involved.
This is an attack on free speech and should be condemned.

No surprise really. They've had a policy for a while now that individuals invited to speak to government departments and civil servants have to be vetted and if there is anti-government content on their social media they won't be invited or their invite will be rescinded. It's actually rather chilling stuff when you consider that most experts on most subjects are likely to think the Tories are a shower of nasty, incompetent bastards.

Awaiting lots of condemnation of the treatment of Walter Wolfgang. "PARTY OF FREE SPEECH blub blub".
Its fine to take the moral high ground if you have to some to stand on.

Ah "whatabboutery". The modern term for "yip you got me there"
Not at all. The contemporary phrase for "Don't change the subject".
Both are disgusting attacks, but one happened today, a d the other several years ago.
As Peston said "I'm not quite sure this meets the threshold for heckling."
It is a clear demonstration of the way the Tory Party has turned the Police into a politicised force.
Everybody should be deeply concerned about the changes introduced in recent years to restrict the right of protest. But you have already said that you hoped people would use violence against Steve Bray, so clearly we are on opposite sides on this.
Maybe one day it will be you or a member of your family who needs a voice raised on their behalf in public.
Priti and Suella have worked their hardest to ensure that there won't be anyone to speak for them then.
Martin Niemoller's words have been a touchstone for what it is to be a reasonable democracy, and a warning as to how easy it is to fall into totalitarianism:
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Interesting you mention Jews there. I am only aware of one party who proactively discriminated against the Jewish community.
Clue: it wasn't the conservatives.

OK, make that two parties then. Adolf Hitlers National socialists and Jeremy Corbyn's National Socialists. Only difference is Jezza was nicer to Russia
