It's probably already happening to a certain extent, but if/when we're promoted to the PL I'm sure Ed Sheeran will be asked to help raise our profile around the world.
The extra merch sales and TownTV subscriptions to international supporters, would make a huge difference so we can compete and meet FFP requirements.
I read Indonesia is the fourth biggest population in the world. All we need to do is put Baggott in the first team and we would probably dwarf our current shirt sales in a day.

So a Baggott photo with ed first game of season then.

You’ve taken the words right out of my mouth . The Far East is THE market to crack, and they love their football. Baggott will eventually be in the first 5am I’m sure and that alone will boost shirt sales as you say. Ed needs to include the Far East in one of his tours…don’t think he’s done that yet has he?

He's potentially pretty valuable from a commercial perspective. Young, handsome lad, good player. If he played in the premier league I'm sure it would be a nice opportunity to tap in to the Indonesian market.
I've seen this ensemble a couple of times, get Ed playing bass and give Elkan a drum and we have it made (or we realise that what works for one island in Indonesia offends everyone else...) Would like to see how the 'clap...clap...clap...clap' merchants cope with this if it was played over the Tannoy:

From my experience living in Thailand I would imagine there would be a huge number of fakes sold but not sure official shirts would be boosted that much. £60 for a shirt is a lot to spend in the UK; it’s a huge amount in Indonesia!
The carpetbaggers are more interested in the US market. If Sheeran has a profile there he could be useful - but the real appeal is to vacuous bond salesmen and hedge fund managers looking to ‘invest’. I doubt he carries much weight there.

Unlike you to be so pessimistic Elephant, your usually Swanning around the place. What's up, you have a rough night?

....about the budgies now effectively being owned by the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team?
Do you think their franchise is a home run or a strike out?
STTTRRiiiiiiikkkkkke!!!

I noticed the other day that most of our YouTube commenters are Indonesian lol. Sure Baggott would have won MOTM against Hull if there was a global vote.

Surely distribution and pricing by a sharp marketing team could solve that ? And if the shirts are actually made in Indonesia then there is an economic plus point too. Put them out for ninety five thousand Rupiah each and ensure that only local outlets get shipments, job done. Sure a few will find their way back to Suffolk to undercut Planet Blue a little but if the overseas distribution is labyrinthine enough it will make that difficult and unattractive enough in money terms for the big boys in the knock off market to be interested, especially if an Indonesian sponsor could be found and the shirt lettering was in Sanskrit.

How come you know so much about “vacuous bond salesmen”? Takes one to know one?
I feel sure our American owners will be on the money when it comes to making as much from the club as they can, after all isn't that why they bought the club ? We mustn't have any dilussions that they are just in it to see happy smiling faces at PR. But at the same time be extremely thankful to them for saving our club after the Marcus Evans disastrous years where all we had was the pandora's Box of hope and even that dwindled by the end.
