Unfortunately 15:33 - Nov 22 with 11166 views | yellowrider | it was very easy to obtain security passes for the event on Dec. 16th although it seems we'll be stuck behind one of those awful pillars again obstructing the view! So myself, Yellow Rider Junior and a fully fledged Yellow from Mackem Land will run the gauntlet of anticipated abuse. Should any of you wish to meet up before to have some banter and chat about all things Yellow and Blue then I could be persuaded to hang around at the BR statue and greet you. Mind you whether Suffolk Plod would understand, let alone allow, such pleasantries is doubtful!

As you are here, you can answer a question... on 19:14 - Nov 22 by Bloots | ....why do you lot think that being a household waste operative is an insult? Isn't that a bit patronising and derogatory towards binmen? Do you go up to your own binmen and give them abuse for doing their job? I think it's a noble profession and they should be applauded. |
Binner! | |

Unfortunately on 19:18 - Nov 22 by yellowrider | It's a joy annoying / confusing people when one writes fairly cryptic posts. Fair to say that many struggle to keep up. I used to work in Bury (Beckett Financial Services) and two really good friends were Ipswich fans but the nicest geezers you could ever come across. My seat at FCR is Block K, Row W, Number 120. Directly opposite the players tunnel. Hope that suffices. |
Kesgrave Community Centre or not at all. Oh and the only thing cryptic is your inability to form cohesive sentences - that is usually the sign of someone trying to distance themselves from a primary account. [Post edited 22 Nov 2023 20:18]

I think their apparently highly cryptic posting is saying they have bought an away ticket despite not being keen to come and watch a good football side entertain their bunch. They also expect us to have paid some attention to the fact they sold out an hour after they came on here boasting about going to be able to watch. They have even quoted a seat number to "prove" they are a yellow season ticket holder. I wonder how long before the end of the mismatch that seat was vacated when they were the silent movie on Sky the other day.

You sold out an away game 40 miles away. Amazing effort.

I read it as he’s got tickets in the away end and that he’s a massive bellend.

Unfortunately on 19:12 - Nov 22 by yellowrider | Well the last time I checked, Sunderland were in the play off slots and also made the Championship play offs last season! That would suggest he has quite a lot going for him to be fair. |
So he’s a Mackem fan and not a “fully fledged Yellow” as you originally stated? Confusing. [Post edited 22 Nov 2023 21:31]

Unfortunately on 15:59 - Nov 22 by _clive_baker_ | I'll meet you under Chantry bridge at 10am. Bring your top boys. I imagine the plod will be all over it, making sure there's no opportunity for rival fans to mix, which is understandable given the inevitable trouble it would cause. I imagine there will still be some despite a big police presence though. Shame really when you think about it, that people aren't capable of going to a football match without punching someone. 3 weeks on Saturday, its coming around quickly. I'm feeling cautiously optimistic about our chances, I hope we give you an absolute hiding and think that's a possible outcome if both sides play as they have been lately. |
I remember the 2-0 Friday night game, mason and Tarrico, I was queueing for the cobbold lower (NS end) with scum queuing for cobbold upper (NS end)… 2/3 police max, no singing, or hint of trouble… What’s happened over the years…? Having more police gets everyone more excited? The hatred grown naturally?

Remember they have a ridiculous scheme where you can pick any away game to (almost) guarantee you get a ticket for so the majority of them snapped up the option to get a ticket for going to their Cup Final at Portman Road. Bizarre system and even more weirder knowing they're going to get turned over and the further confirmation that East Anglia is Blue and we're back.

However, the insult comes from a tramp finding a Town hat in a bin and wearing it, from a Lovejoy episode, non? So binner, rather than binmen. It's still a really feeble insult though innit.

Unfortunately on 16:26 - Nov 22 by _clive_baker_ | It's really weird. I've noticed the more vocal ones are often the less likely to actually be able to handle themselves too. Get all dressed up in their hooligan gear, freshly pressed the night before, act the part in the pub and on the trains and what not, but generally the first to run a mile at the first sight of any trouble. The bravado and bullsh1t is so tedious. Too many t0sspots who have watched a few films and think they're Danny Dyer for the afternoon. |
There was a bit of argy bargy outside the North after a recentish game against Villa, with a couple of very overweight Town twits in tight tops getting a pasting from a Villa fan. It was broken up by an old lad, not sure if he was Town or Villa, but he was obviously 'experienced'. All a bit handbags but it was clear the Town fans were spoiling for a fight without really wanting a (or being able to) actually, you know, fight! Pathetic. Another one that sticks in the mind for some reason was on Wembley Way in 2000, a fat pissed up Barnsley fan was trying to start a fight with anyone and everyone Town. A burly Town fan picked him up firmly but gently and carried him over to a group of Barnsley fans, who stopped him from continuing the aggro. You can sometimes tell the ones who can handle themselves from the fact they aren't letting fly; the loudest ones tend to be the most useless with their fists.
