7 home gates this season over 29k on 09:11 - Dec 27 with 3556 views | GeoffSentence | I wonder how more we will get. Those sort of attendances rely on away fans travelling in numbers. I am pretty sure Sunderland and Southampton will take up their entire allocation but not sure how the rest of the remaining teams travel.

We have had over 29,000 at games where away support was on the low side. Seats went on sale late to home fans.

7 home gates this season over 29k on 09:44 - Dec 27 with 3423 views | ThisIsMyUsername | What's the official capacity? Some sources say 29,673, others say 30,311. I always thought it was 30,300 now.

7 home gates this season over 29k on 10:00 - Dec 27 with 3365 views | xrayspecs | There was not 29k there last night - lots of empty seats in home areas, lots of fans could not attend/chose not to attend. I do take you more general point.

Less than 30k, 29700 is most likely of the three figures you have listed.

7 home gates this season over 29k on 10:26 - Dec 27 with 3245 views | ClareBlue | I've been going since 1975 and there is a bigger buzz now then ever around the Club and we haven't even won anything. But as many clubs find, if you have a few years of dross, when you start winning games it is much much sweeter. Sky said the capacity was just under 30K for the stadium, so the 29700 is probably correct. The biggest thing for me is the number of young fans at matches. I think in the previous 10 years we were becoming one of the oldest fan base in the Country and now there is Junior Blues all over the place. My son was wandering around County Clare in his Ipswich shirt yesterday.

It was a couple of years ago but the ground developments have seen seats removed from the Sir Alf corner where the big screen is, and behind the dugouts.

It's reduced a bit because they have removed seats from around the dug out areas and the small fill in area where the scoreboard is I don't know if that accounts for all of it? Norwich on the other hand through the years have actually increased capacity by packing more seats into to various areas, possibly even removing some exit areas I believe

Correct, I believe Plymouth only brought about 900ish but the remaining seats were opened to home fans. Just a couple of hundred behind Southampton now:- https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/championship/attendances

I don’t think we’ve ever had 30k or over in at Portman Road since the upgrades in the early 2000s. It has always been 29k or thereabouts.

West Ham was 30,003 once, I remember as it's a great number to look at.

When was that? I recall the ones in 03/04/05 being 29k even for the Playoffs. Even the England game was under 29k and that was sold out.

I was thinking this last night about the younger fans - loads of families in the fanzone last night; more than I remember seeing previously. Glad that my boys are finally seeing something worth watching. The last 18 months has erased much of the memories of dross they had watched for the previous 10 years, and I no longer have to keep apologising to them.

I laughed. ‘Salesman’ bullsh1t thought I. Thought we might get to the odd sell out for big games just as we did v Arsenal and Inter Milan, but what we are seeing now? Not a snowballs chance in hell. Doh!
