The only real explanation to that would be if he was lined up to immediately replace Ladapo and it got delayed for one reason or another, leading to us stepping up our interest in Al Hamadi only for Moore to become available again perhaps? |  | | |

Don't think Al-Hamadi was ever first choice to lead the line. Exciting prospect but I'd have thought we would always have been after experience to get the job done this season. |  |

The thought did occur to me, after a mention of smoke and mirrors earlier:
Assuming Moore has, honestly, been our first choice for the senior of the two strikers we've wanted this window. If it was always the case that he wasn't going to be available until around now, would it not just be good PR for the club to make noise about other possible moves?
Imagine how things would have been had there been no talk of the likes of Gallagher etc., over the last few weeks. The furore was bad enough when it seemed we might struggle to get anyone in, despite targets and efforts being known. |  |

For me Al-Hamadi is definitely more for the future.
A few Championship clubs were looking at him with a view to making a move in the summer apparently. Think we saw an opportunity to steal a march on those clubs by getting him now.
I think he will get game time this season but not investing in experience up front as well would have been a risky strategy. | | | |
