I think there may have been an agreement when BT/TNT took over the contract from ITV/Sky that the final would be shown for free. I know it is free on Discovery if we give our personal details on their website, and for those know how to do that (which many elderly people won't). I just believe major finals should be free for everyone to switch on their TVs and watch. If Ipswich get there one day I would like everyone to see it.

I know it is free on Discovery if we give our personal details on their website, and for those know how to do that (which many elderly people won't). I just believe major finals should be free for everyone to switch on their TVs and watch. If Ipswich get there one day I would like everyone to see it.

I know what you mean, and it’s more a practical issue for many, as you have to download and access the app on your phone or TV, unless you have a newish TV which already has it.
Some of us are also a bit wary of Discovery, having signed up for ‘free’ for the last Olympics, only to discover 6 months down the line that we’d been charged for the last three because we’d forgotten to cancel … |  |

Errr...no, I'm watching it right now on my smart TV.
Find the discovery+ app on the TV and you will be shown a screen where you need to go to e.g. discovery.com/Samsung on your phone, with some numbers underneath it. Then you scroll to the bottom, click on the free register option and put your first name and email address in. Then type the numbers on the screen, into your phone. It is an extremely simple process.
