Seems like so many clubs are paranoid and conscious of PSR that the days of his big transfers are over, even Utd, who have been quite active have only spent £30m on a new striker, days gone by, they would've been spending 3 times that.

They are big fees for average or unproven players. I think the more established players would easily go for over 100m I just think that a lot of them are tied in on long contracts and clubs don't need to sell. So the majority of the time, when a top player goes, it's because they've run their contract down or are a lot older. If someone like Musiala was available we'd probably be talking £200m I think. Lots of players went for over 100 last summer. | | | |

I hope so, but very much doubt it. It seems like things have eased this window, but inevitably they’ll go up again in a season or two, unless sky pull out.
What is interesting though, as others have noted, is the price that pretty mediocre players are going for now. £20 - £30m for average Prem players or for up and coming Championship players. Crazy. |  |

Mbappe is still costing an awful amount - £12.5m / year wage plus a signing on fee of £128m over five years so he is a signing >£100m. Regardless of contract, RM would have signed him somehow, possibly with state money as before.
