Jens Cajuste 14:27 - Aug 14 with 19572 views | ChrisAllen7 | If the rumours are true then we are about to get one hell of a player! I live in Stockholm and go to all of Sweden's home matches. Everytime he's played he conducts what goes on around him. He's tall and athletic. Wins duals that are 30/70 not in his favour. Great passer of the ball and carries it direct and at speed. Fantastic for breaking the lines and getting the opposition to pedal backwards. This would be a quality signing. Get it done!!! [Post edited 14 Aug 2024 15:13]

Because we're favourites.... on 18:46 - Aug 14 by Bloots | ....to go down. He's probably never even heard of us to be honest. I think people are underestimating how difficult it is proving to be to convince decent players to join us, particularly if more established clubs are sniffing around. |
We’re not with some bookies and to be honest, people are stupid so the bookies know that a big % of the mass will bet exactly as the pattern of last season’s relegated teams if the media push it enough.

Against that must be set the fact that Everton don't have any new owners yet, are skint and possibly facing a points deduction. Dyche is a good manager, but not known for pretty football, if that's what the lad wants to play.

....I doubt he's too concerned about the long term ownership of the club. We'll see I guess.

As someone who works as an odds compiler who literally adjusted this exact market 3 days ago, I can’t emphasise enough how that ISN’T how betting markets are formed.

Jens Cajuste on 20:33 - Aug 14 with 3638 views | Vincakes | This has been mentioned before but it's worth saying that one positive is that this doesn't count as a PL loan, so we can still loan two other players from the PL. [Post edited 14 Aug 2024 20:44]

Bookies don’t compile odds based on people’s stupidity? I beg to differ.

No, they compile it using seasonal data, models like xG, as well as weight of money. Obviously.

Had a similar discussion with my boy over where Cajuste will end up. I asked him whether he would prefer to play under Dyche or McKenna. His exact words were "I’d play under whoever paid me the most".

Without sounding big headed, it’s also priced up on expert opinion. I priced up the big sandown eclipse card a few weeks ago all on my own and had the odds up online before any other bookmaker in the country.

Yep. Forget "being competitive in this league" or finishing between 13th and 10th. It is vitally important that we survive this season. If we do then we will have a better chance at getting players next summer.

....we become a much more attractive proposition if we can prove we can stay in the league. Until then it's a massive leap of faith.

By the same token, as he'd be a season loan for us with "with no clause relating to a later purchase" reported by Phil, I doubt he's too concerned about whether we'd go down at the end of it? More likely that someoine in mid-career could be influenced by the desire to further develop his game under McKenna, whose rep for player improvement is now fairly well circulated in the professionbal game I'd have thought.

When both will pay extremely well by any standards, that's a sad indictment of the modern world. Educate him!

Quite. Every young player in the game is going to know about McKenna now and how he improves players. Is he going to choose Dyche's hoofball over that? I guess we'll see, but I think he'd be crazy to.
