Team leaked again - not sharing obviously on 16:08 - Oct 4 by textbackup
Personally think WAY too much is made of this.
WHU will have multiple scouts looking at how we play, and what certain players bring. As we do too.
Not a single professional outfit would set up and plan based on something they read on a forum/tweeter.
This is fair comment, and I'm sure you're right.
But if the Club don't want it leaked, people really shouldn't be leaking. McKenna clearly feels he gains some kind of advantage by confirming that Cajuste is out, but keeping his cards close to his chest on who else is deemed sufficiently fit, and on who is being selected this week. That being the case, shouting from the digital rooftops about what cards McKenna has in his hand is pretty treacherous, and is the opposite of trying to play one's part in being the '12th man' during the match.
We can let West Ham know who's gonna be the 12th man, but let's keep the other 11 under our hats, I say.
Not to mention that Phil might lose the trust of the Club if that sort of thing gets leaked on here. Which would be a really bad thing for so many reasons.

Yeah I agree, if the club don’t want it out there seems weird someone within is telling others

I have said this several times before. Professional outfits are not going to base their starting X1 and tactics based on something read on the internet. By some accounts, they ain't that accurate anyway. Pretty sure I could have a pretty good shot at our starting X1, so sure West Ham could too. Far to much panic over not a lot for me.

I am guessing the WA group is Wattsapp? In which case, just shut the group down. Somebody at the club must know how to do it. If not, somebody at the club must be able to find out who it is. They must be in the inner circle of KM's trust, so can't be that difficult. Personally, I don't think it is a problem, but if KM does and Phil could get in trouble, then if anybody is stupid enough post it on here, just ban them.

Loads of people can get the team early. I know plenty who can.

I'm more concerned about Bluey at right back, will we be hoofing it long all game?
To be fair, if West Ham have any half decent scouts they won't need to read it on here to know that we have decided to switch to a very direct, long ball game with Hirst and Chaplin as the big-man, little-man partnership.

But if keeping the team news secret until just before the game start doesn't make any difference, why don't managers like KM announce it on a Wed or Thurs? They can still change if a player picks up injury in training. But managers don't announce the teams 2 or 3 days before the game, as they obviously think it would give the opposition an advantage.
