It's not a good look and we are better than this.

Completely agree. Threads now in double figures about the penalty and sending off. It's eating people inside. Time to let it go and move on to Spurs.

I don’t care what it looks like, I don’t want to be plucky old Ipswich taking wrong decisions on the chin. The only way the PL will treat us with any respect is to constantly call out wrong decisions and to make a right proper fuss.

If it was a one off, I would agree with you.

Only 10 games in and we are minus 5 on VAR decisions. Gary O’Neill states that Wolves are at minus 20.

Don’t think it is going to get any better anytime soon.

I don't care what it looks like, we should call out the BS for what it is and make plenty of noise about it. If I were in Ashton's shoes I'd be asking for an explanation as to why that penalty wasn't given, why the Clarke one wasn't given against Everton and what was clear and obvious about that to overturn it and what wasn't clear and obvious about Chaplin's. Its our 1st season at this level since VAR has been introduced, I'd be asking for explanations and guidance and I dare say they won't have anything compelling.

It's a farce and we shouldn't lay down and accept it when people's livelihoods are potentially at stake.

Think it's fine for people to get annoyed at refs, VAR, etc. especially after the events of the weekend and it will naturally dissipate from now onwards anyway.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

People in reacting to a match on a Monday shocker.

Always happens, whatever happens in a game.

You get the initial reaction on a Saturday evening and a Sunday but then you get all the ‘fall out’ on a Monday and those that don’t use the forum at the weekend come about.

Totally agree. In 25 years, the forum’s never been like this before - so up in arms, angry and shocked ata decision. Many saying it’s the worst reffing decision they’ve ever seen in decades of watching football. Shows how serious it is. Nothing like Leeds, who routinely go ape over decisions that don’t go their way.

Forest have done that for the past couple of years and now look at them.

Learn by our mistakes, become more PL streetwise and hopefully our fortunes will change.

Would that be the same Leeds that got about 16 penalties last season, whilst Leicester got 12 and Southampton 11 and we got about 3, despite all the stats for possession in the opposition box, dribbles, fouls drawn etc all being really close to identical?

We didn't even get anything last season and the ridiculous bias to the relegated clubs could easily have cost us. Luckily it didn't.

But happy for Ashton and McKenna to not sit by and let us potentially cost us this year.

It's funny seeing those emotional tho who call everyone a bed wetter for being vocal about things not bed wetting about a refs decision.

Bloody bed wetters the lot a ya.

Agree but in the meantime we are totally correct to point out uneven/unfair/wrong officials decisions.

I would love to agree with you but anything less than full on confronting injustice just sees us labelled as‘Plucky Ipswich’.

I don’t think that there is an organised conspiracy against any one club. I do think that referees in general are overly protected from criticism by the FA / Premier League and that it’s easier to ignore the cries of injustice from smaller clubs , especially those that are new to the league as the media won’t highlight it. Can you imagine Sky if the penalty and subsequent sending off that affected us on Saturday had been Manchester City?

The ridiculous apologies offered to some clubs are as flippant as they are pointless and insulting. The pathetic justification of decisions demonstrates an alarming sense that they can get away with incompetence that potentially costs clubs millions.

Keep the pressure on, call them out at every opportunity.

its not a deliberate conspiracy, but the FA/Premier League/PGMOL wont ever criticise bad decisions by officials, they hide behind the kind of nonsense thinking Gallagher used to explain it away.

but theres not a hope in hells chance if a Town player at Anfield in front of the Kop, or at Man City makes the same kind of tackle against the opposition in our penalty area, the ref doesnt immediately point to the penalty spot.

and if he didnt and this charade of VAR, didnt overturn the decision, it would be back page headline in all the newspapers in the UK, it would probably go worldwide in fact, ref blunders cost Liverpool or City a dead cert penalty, so much so theyd probably feel theyd have to rest the referee just to keep him out of the limelight for a bit.

all we get is Linekar making jokes about it.

😂 - some of these posts are comedy gold in the wake of that news. Glad we’ve got folk at the club who are happy to stand up and be counted rather than roll over. Good on Ashton and the staff. Whether it goes anywhere or not remains to be seen but hopefully that’s a nice lesson for some.

We can only deal with what’s in front of us, not what’s gone. The numbskull referee cabal have dug in to defend the indefensible and couldn’t give a monkeys. Same with the PL. it’s a club that doesn’t want the likes of us.

There is no point in wasting any more energy on it. It doesn’t change my feelings about what happened. It was one of the worst 100 mins of officiating I’ve ever seen. The ref was garbage from the kick off.

So yes, when we get shafted again next week or the week after, I’ll be going bonkers over it again and I hope the club does too. There’s nothing else we can do.

Exactly this, The var farce won't stop if we stop complaining, that's a guarantee. Every time it happens it must be called out and for what it is. Legalised cheating as it is. Its got to change, it's not operating anywhere near how it was apparently designed. I am getting more cynical and dispondant with every game. On the bright side we are playing pretty well and we will win with a good ref (if allowed to ref)
